Agree with the first part. As for Lynch, I can't decide what I thought of his game. Did some nice things, but went missing for long patches. Pretty sure I remember him dropping 2 sitters as well.
I agree with you on this. Lynch was perplexing today. Some nice things but didn't impose himself on the game. Id like to see what he can do over a few weeks.

Last three goals.

All Jaensch.

Adelaide's coaches get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to watch these players kick the ball around nearly every day, and they can't figure out that this guy looks more comfortable when he is thinking about kicking goals.

Holy mother of god. Who have we got on the payroll at this club. Mind numbing!! MIND NUMBING

some of us have been calling it since end of last season and we dont even watch training

Would be even happier of Wright Away would keep his word and not show his face on the Adelaide Board again until 2014. We should be so lucky.
Ban him then?

Ban him then?
The board would be a better place without him (and amer for that matter), but they're not breaking any rules, so I don't have any reason to ban them. I can't just ban someone arbitrarily just because I don't like them and I think they post nothing but rubbish. That would be an abuse of power.

I can state my opinion that they post rubbish and hope (wish) that they'll improve their posting or just go away, the same as any other poster, but while they remain within the rules I don't have just cause for taking any moderator actions.

i agree that i'd rather Jeansch forward. but it's a different ballgame when the opposition expect you to start forward and plan a defender for him, rather than the surprise shift forward.

still, i'd like to see how he goes up there with the extra responsibility.

Thommo was robbed of a crucial opportunity to put is 11 points down. I can't believe it wasn't high or holding against him it was so obvious. Then to follow up with one of those dodgy nondescript holding the ball decisions against him and plus the 50. That's just a kick in the pants. Really poor form by the umps then and I hope we bring it to the media's attention.

i said this somewhere else, but i'm glad Thommo gave away that 50 for abuse. there comes a point where you have to make a statement and call them out. i wish it had been done earlier to be honest.

there were multiple chances for our players to abuse them.

you sure??

Keep it civil. Remember these are real people you are talking to. Don't bag other people just for the hell of it. Keep your posts respectful of other people. Don't create new sock-puppet user accounts just to back yourself up in an argument or bully other people. Insults like ******, **** and ******* are particularly repugnant to many moderators. Don't bait or provoke negative responses or you may be hit for points as well.

If Tex misses ANY games (which seems VERY likely) stick a fork into us, we are done!

Other than 2-3 players, no one is willing to put thier head over the ball. Our contested ball numbers are embarassing.

Tex's injury looked pretty bad. I am hoping for the best but I would be staggered if its not ACL! :( It looked pretty bad. It's never a good time to get injured but Tex looked to be back to his best today before getting injured.

Sauce is NOT right. He is unable to jump as high or as convincingly as he did last couple of years. He must be carrying some sort of leg injury.

Feeling is mutual :)

If anything Jaensch's move to the forward line has highlighted a huge blunder from Sando. I can't believe how many games they wasted playing him in defense. It's obvious to pretty much everybody that Jaensch is no defender but up until now we didn't have any hard evidence that he would go any better in the forward line.

To his credit, Sanderson seems more than capable of mixing things up a bit. I'd fully expect him to make the move now.

Of course there are some severe problems like that still, but we did very well to fight that out and nearly pinch it from nowhere. I don't think we've won a clearance or CB count all season, it's extremely worrying. Sauce was better in the last quarter at least, but what were those first 3 quarters?

I did see a number of times where he won the tap, only to have Carlton snaffle it up...... I think Sauce will come good.

Now it is between the ears. I saw some good passages of play in the 3rd and more so in the 4th. This theme of playing 4 good quarters of footy is the same as last year. Get that right and we will be fine... just that this season may go down the gurgler as we have to try another new forward structure......

strange question (from me)

but do you think the games in defence were for a reason? i.e to improve his defensive movements as a forward?

I'd also add, some of his early games where he played as more of a mid clearly showed his forward capabilities, hell wasn't he recruited as a goal kicking mid?

I think it was mostly out of necessity. As a forward, he had Johncock, Callinan, Douglas, Porps and Petrenko all ahead of him. This time 12 months ago they were all firing nicely and Jaensch was well out of the picture behind these established players.

In contrast, the departure of Doughty and the move of Johncock back to the forward line meant that there was an opening in defence, with relatively few competitors - most of whom were his direct peers. He was competing against the likes of Brown, Smith and Laird, none of whom are/were established players (at least not when the experiment began early last year). Unfortunately, it soon became abundantly apparent that Jaensch was a liability as a defender.

Now it seems he might get his chance in the forward line after all. Of the players previously named, Douglas is still there and playing exceptionally well, but one by one the other players ahead of him in the queue have fallen out of contention due to a plague of bizarrely bad form, leaving Jaensch as the last man standing. If he can finally show some consistency at his preferred end of the ground, then good luck to him. If he ever has to go back to defence then I'd rather see him playing in the SANFL.

In the end, that isn't always the worst way to find a players position.

He is going to get a consistent exposure to AFL footy and lets face it, up forward he can actually use his biggest (and some would suggest only) weapon

What have we got to lose? Unlike Petrenko, he can actually kick for goal without staining his underpants. All the other contenders have vacated their positions, so we might as well give him a go. Worst comes to worst he ends up on the scrapheap - which is where he was headed as a defender anyway. On the other hand, he could turn out to be a handy small forward.

true, in addition he can kick +50m so always handy at that end.

I guess we will see next week
