Hartlett > Thurlow (bench)
Knights > Buddy

Hartlett no longer in my best 6 defenders so figured I'd downgrade him instead of taking a 50k price drop. Now have 250k to make 2 midfield upgrades next week.

i already listed them in my first post, but here they are again ;)

my current MF: Swan Ablett Pendles JPK McVeigh Hodge O'mera Wines
Woops:oops:
I'd go either Danger or Watson. Jelwood and Mitchell are also good options at your price range (Jelwood also has a wk12 bye).
Not a big fan of using stepping stones (e.g. Priddis or Westhoff previously). You use an extra trade more than you need too. I'd rather use all my trades getting in rookies and bring in the best premos (and replace the odd injured or suspended player)

3 different trade options on the table for me and im having big difficulties deciding which way to go. My aim this week it to trade out two port Rookies to get another premium in its just a matter of deciding whether that premium will be in the midfield, Backline or Forward line

trade 1- Wines>Longergan and Stevenson> Hanley
which leaves me with a starting back-line of Goddard, Hartlett, Hanley, Birchall, Vlasutin and Goodes

Trade 2- Neade> B Kennedy and Wines> Swallow
Which would give me a starting midfield of Swan , Abblett, Pendles, Watson, cotchin, Dangerfield, Swallow and O'meara

trade 3- Wines> B Kennedy and Neade> Martin
Which would give me a starting forward line of Cox, JJK , Martin, Wright, Rockliff and SJ

Option one strengthens my back line but means i would have to play with Evans or Lonergan on the ground in the mids

Option two almost completes my midfield but means i would have to play Terclich on the ground in the backline

Option three im probably the most unsure about, having been on the Dustin Martin Rollercoaster last year. Id like to think he will keep up his form but im just not sure....

Isnt the rnd 12 bye perfect for you regarding Priddis
when its round 12 bye then you can go priddis to cotchin, he should be bottomed out by then

Actually something I hadn't considered. Always had Cotchin on my mind but didn't think of that option. I am quite keen on doing a M.Jones to Cotchin trade at that time but that will rely on Jones to keep scoring well and not lose much if any value.

Lots of things to think about

After half a dozen reversed trades I've ended up going

Stevenson > Hanley
Neade >Rockliff

Swapped Cox into Ruck to cover Maric, who in hindsight, was mistake. Be looking at Maric > Kreuzer or possibly Roughead soon, if he doesn't make too much money.

tough round for trading.

still have a lot of port players, not sure who to bring in, need to start thinking about the byes, need to keep pace with the leaders, dont want to miss the boat on certain players (if not already).... fmdt.

Heath > Thurlow
Wines > Watson

I know Watson is a week early, could save an extra 10k, but I want Buddy next week and he will lose more than Watson will.

Would like to say playing Terlich is not that bad as he gets 30 points a week kicking to himself from kick ins. Watched this last week and he kicked to himself nearly every time. So I see no issue starting him for another round or 2 personally. However I still like the idea of getting Hanley for you.

However I would rethink Swallow, was in doubt for the game earlier in the week and no certainty to play imo. However you should know this before lockout anyway.

Thanks for your advice, your probably right about swallow and even if he does play he has a relatively high be so should drop in price anyway meaning i can possibly trade him in next week. At this stage i have gone with trading Martin in as it will mean that instead of having to trade terlich (rd 12 bye) for Thurlow next week i can trade Stevenson (rd 11 bye) instead which suits my team structure for byes better. im sure i will get cold feet before lock out and reverse the trade though as im just not sure he can keep up his form for the rest of the season

Would you guys go wines > Priddis by trading out Rowe, or go wines > mitchell trading out neade?

If I go option one, I'll have 100k in the bank to upgrade macaffer next week to a decent fwd, so having Priddis and macaffer, or I could go option 2,and get mitchell, spend next week if no injuries just getting bubbles and collecting cash to make another big premium in, hopefully sj..

So - mitchell now and nothing next week, or Priddis now and premium fwd next week?

Not sure if saving 100k on Priddis would be worth it long term or just go mitchell for consistency sake...

Most times mitchell plays gws, melbourne, or gc you could say he plays his "normal" game.. No break out scores.. So he's a consistent player, not sure if I should pounce him now or not?

Thoughts?

P.S. My rookies are starting to dry up a little bit, Crouch is back next week, Rowe's not playing, Hutchins sometimes gets the vest and isn't going up super fast, Same goes for mitchell...

So I'd need to spend a week if I go with Mitchell to gather some more $$ up.

Sorry for triple posting, If I go mitchell I'll have 478,00 before round 10 to get a fwd.

If I go Priddis instead of mitchell I'll have 578k...

So it comes down too

Michell + Stokes (Or someone valued 478k or less before round 10 or

Priddis + Steve J in FWD.... What would you guys prefer ?

I'd take SJ and Priddis over Mitchell and Stokes.

Personally i would go Priddis and SJ. SJ will be one of the top 6 forwards at the end of the year and Priddis will give you consistent scores and while probably not ending up as one of the top 10 mid sat the end of the year will still net you a 100 avg. Also if you have a week where you have a spare trade you could always look at trading priddis up to a higher scoring mid

Can't swing cox from the forwards and wait til next week to get Kruezer? Kruezer has a be of 162 and is predicted to be $40k cheaper next week.
If not, Goldstein. Goldstein and McElvoy will average the same and Goldstein is cheaper by $30k
Or wait a week after a big Naitanui price drop and bring him in

Thanks guys! I was crunching numbers as much as I could and this is what I've come with -

Before round 10, In the trade time just before the start of the round I will either have -

Priddis + 642k FWD
Mitchell + 540k FWD

BEFORE ROUND 10..

Thoughts?

You guys think I should go Priddis + Stevie J right? Not Mitchel + 540k for a FWD?

Keep in mind I'll have - S Selwood, Cox, J Kennedy, Priddis... Is that too many WCE?

2 In the mid, 1 in the ruck, 1 in the FWD?

P.S. I could always get rid of Mayes instead of Macaffer and end up with 590k to get SJ?

So I could still go Mitchell + SJ to remove Mayes + Wines, Or I could go Priddis + SJ to remove Maccaffer + Wines???

Thoughts guys?!

It doesn't HAVE to be mitchell btw, I was thinking Watson would be a good pick instead, seems to have a much higher sealing compared to Mitchell

Thomas > hodge
Wines> s.mitchell

With Gws gc and Melb next few rounds, hopefully these guys don't get rested.
Really want to bring in Jobe and pendles, but sammys fixture is just too good to ignore

So to make things easier, would you rather

Option 1 - Stevie J, Maccaffer, Watson
Option 2 - Stevie J, Mayes, Priddis
Option 3 - Stevie J, Maccaffer, S Mitchell

You think Watson will do better than mitchell this year ? Thanks for your thoughts mate.

I've spent the last hour crunching numbers, BE's and everything... So not being lazy here with questions, I'm now just up to opinions.

What time frame? I wouldn't touch priddis TBH as he is not a top 8 mid, not even top 15 IMO, so I would not hold him longer term, however both Mitchell and Watson are in the top 15 for sure.

I think, in the next three weeks, option 3 is the best however longer term option 1. But hopefully you will be able to bring in Jobe for someone else within the next few weeks, so I would go option 3
