If you don't put rookies in these lists, where do you put them? They've got to be put against some year, and they do count in your sum total of drafting. Why are people including Barlow and Crameri?
They were both in the Rookie Draft.

Geelong will look upon the 2009 draft as one in the same vein as the 1999 or 2001 draft class. Given our selections (and of course factoring the sad 4-knee Menzel example) we still have Christensen, Duncan and Vardy (who kicked 6 in the ressies yesterday) and if all were blessed with regular luck with fitness, they would all be core players at the Cats. Christensen best on ground last night and Duncan has been good for most of his career, and both are regulars now. Put it this way, i'd rather have Christensen and Duncan as a pair than Scully and Trengove based on their career output so far. Not bad for picks 28 and 40..

Does that make Josh Cowan the Charlie Gardiner and Daniel Foster of the 2009 draft for Geelong?

Aaron Black has played 8 games in 3.5 seasons, can't see him being a 200 gamer.
Pretty clear top 3 now:
Jake Carlisle
Nathan Fyfe
Dustin Martin
When you consider how many more gun mids there are than keys, surely Carlisle is pushing Fyfe as first picked here?
We traded for Dalziell, drafted Sheppard, Weedon and Stevens in the ND, Neates in the PSD and Broome, Strijk, Hams & Oakley-Nicholls in the RD.
I almost vomited on my keyboard typing that.
Razzle!

19. Grimes
20. Golby
21. Howlett
- Forgot Stratton and didn't want to ditch Howlett, hence the top 21.
- Carlisle and Black the bolters from this year. Hard to place them. May look back in 12 months time and see I've been caught up in the hype but I'm treating them as talls who took a pretty standard amount of time to breakout.
- Grimes and Vardy also very tough to place to due injury.
- Wanted to throw Roberton in there but I just haven't seen enough of him in StK colours yet to make a judgement.
- The talent drops off significantly after the top 25.

He's only 22 but I concede that he would need a good run with injury to get there.

Cunnington and Black... oh dear.
4. Cunnington - I laughed.
6. Black - I laughed so hard I woke the house up.
