Clubs are well within their rights to formally complain about illegal approaches. If they don't do that I reckon they lose the right to whinge about it.

As for Spurs, they built a squad on tapping up players from the likes of Forest, Crystal Palace etc. And they've also proven that they are happy for clubs to pay them off to avoid facing a complaint for illegal approaches.

Hacked is a bit dramatic, I'd say it would be closer to say accessed by someone that no longer should be accessing it.

Without knowing exactly what sort of information is in the database it's hard to know jsut how much of a problem this is. I know we have very detailed scouting reports on potential targets but whether they are part of that database or not I wouldn't have a clue.

Have a feeling it's more than likely going to be one of our recruiting team seeing as half of them came across from City in October last year. I'm familiar with the Scout7 database (it's used by clubs all over the world to compile video, statistical and financial analysis on thousands of players), but I'm not familiar with how access to it is organized. Perhaps when one of these recruiters moved across to Liverpool their access rights to Man City's database wasn't removed?

How do Liverpool fans feel about Suarez right now?

Showing zero respect to the club.

Wish he'd shut up to be honest. If he wants a move just communicate it privately to the club like Cavani is doing with Napoli or Rooney with United etc, etc. It could be that he's trying to flush out interest that currently isn't there (keeping in mind there are very few clubs who could actually afford him, if none of those clubs come forward with an offer he'll have to stay), or that Madrid are instructing him to kick up a stink to make his position at the club untenable in the hope that we'll be more open to accepting whatever lowball offer they're going to come in with.

Either way I'd hope we stand firm and don't take a penny less than his market value, he has 4 years left on his contract after signing a 5 year extension this season (which to be honest contradicts the idea that he's desperately unhappy in England) so we don't have to worry about him losing value if we look to sell him next summer instead. I'd prefer to see him stay because for better or worse he is extremely entertaining and one of the best footballers in the league, but I wouldn't mind if we sold him so long as our valuation is met.

It's definitely possible. It's pretty obvious what the club would say if he asked for a transfer privately, but to be honest I don't think going to the press is going to increase the chances of Madrid making an offer for him or Liverpool accepting that offer. I still think it should've been done behind closed doors. To be fair though he's made it clear it's the media he has an issue with, not Liverpool Football Club. Whether that's the whole truth or not only he will know but through all these interviews he's definitely done his best to be respectful to Liverpool while communicating his desire to move.

There were a few other comments he made during the El Pais interview which to me sound like he's trying to cover all bases and not burn any bridges in case he doesn't get the move, here's a rough translation of that interview:

Bostock is one. Dawson. Reid. Routledge. And thats just the two clubs I mentioned. I could move onto other clubs Spurs have used the same tactics on but we'd both just get bored.

FWIW I wasn't comparing Spurs and Madrid. Zidane is just a touch less subtle than Spurs have always been.
