Not really surprised, but I would hate to lose Hocking, has been as important as Balme although without the kudos. It was Hocking who knocked back Dank. If he were to go though, I would expect to see Buddha back at the cattery.
That would be a lose, lose for mine.

If we require another assistant coach I'd far rather the club go after someone like Ling than Buddha.

Unless there has been a drastic change in their relationship, Garry would mean no Steve (just as the reverse has been true for a long time).
yes, but if Steve did leave, I was asking about the -ity towards Buddha, which LS-V answered.

Not angst Veedubs. Just don't rate him as a coach. Plus him coming back to the club would ensure Steven never returned should he leave to take a job with the Dees. Something that is highly unlikely in my view btw.

Plenty of great assistants have not made it to senior coach level. Neeld may be in that category, and Buddha is well respected in SA.
And if SH left for D's, how soon would you expect him looking to return home?

Re Mark Neeld on Footy Classified. The comment pertaining to us that struck me related to Rivers exit from the Dees. While acknowledging Rivers wanted to go to a club that had immediate finals prospects Neeld also indicated that the Dees weren't prepared to match our offer because they were privy to his injury status. Surely we haven't taken on another player with injury issues.

He was a success with the Falcons with a highly talented team. Other than that his coaching record hasn't been anything to write home about.

There was some speculation when Primus went that had he not been contracted to Port he might have been sent packing too.

Plenty of other people I'd rather have back in assistant roles over Buddha. Ling, Scarlett and Egan to name three.

He may be useful for inside knowledge into Collingwood.
I'm sure he'll get a gig somewhere. Carlton being the obvious choice due to his association with Malthouse who said he rated him as his senior assistant at Collingwood. Of course that may have had a bit to do with putting Bucks in his place.

Thought he handled the interview on Footy Classified in a very dignified manner.

This makes no sense because they were not able to match the offer for Rivers anyway as he was unrestricted.

Only Beamer could they have matched the offer for.

He passed us up once so get stuffed

I'm pretty sure it was the other way around.

As I recall, he wanted to come here as an assistant and Collingwood refused to release him.

Anyway, little matter, I'd expect him to be at Carlton next year.

This was only speculation anyway, wasn't it? Something about a direct swap of Sanderson and Neeld because apparently Buckley and Sando were besties and planned to rule the AFL together?

No no no no no no no

We've already got a good enough coaching setup, and rather Knights move from VFL duties to Assistant Coach than Neeld.
