I still like Richmond's Aaron Edwards, big marking target and is a sharpshooter like Mayne.

He is thirty next year, Chris Mayne is taller too.

He is a big heavy bloke though.

I like the Jesse White concept, plus I recognise the other tall options the swans have to come back. Basically Goodes and Reid from this weekends game. Goodes may only have one or two seasons left, plus on current form I wonder whether Pike might go out before White.. Whites worth is substantial, I can't see the swans being at all keen to let him go. Their midfield is strong with young quality, Rampe, and Jack mark II coming through, not confident our young fringe mids would get the job done trade wise.

I am curious to see if Fyfe spending more time forward is a patern we will see more of on the back end of this season.

Does any have a video of Whites goals, I couldn't see any of them in the highlights for the game.

If not, how did he get them? Any pack marks?

He is a much better contested mark than I thought, but he was manned up by Ricky Pettard. He bodied Ricky out on the run, tangled up and marked with one arm.

Took one on the burst right in front about 3.5m in the air from a bullet pass into the fifty.

It was a good game.

If you want a reason to discount it, it would be that he was the secondary and tertiary forward, manned up by undersized opponents but it forced Hardwick to put Vickery as the loose man for some height back there and he was very average with his positioning.

He earned his goals, he was quick too. If you took a touch of the speed of Franklin and added it to his contested marking, it was like he was called Jesse White yesterday. That may be a bit generous, he lost his footing a couple of times.

We could do worse. He looks like he is working hard for the first time in his life.

Interesting, I always new he was quick and he may be ok when we have Pav playing. I don't believe he is capable of being the focal point of the attack more than the players we already have on our list.

Would you describe him as an upgrade on Zac Clarke or about the same with out the ability to ruck?

I have him on par with Zac Clarke as a forward, but Zac would be a lot better in the ruck.

The comparison with Zac comparison comes from there Athletic ability, with out the matching football ability.

We require Forwards, Forwards first, and who can pinch hit in the ruck, not the other way around.
When was the last time Clarke, kicked four goals in the forward line?
The obsession with mids playing as forwards, ruckman as forwards, the truth is we require players who
kick goals first, are we the next Western Bulldog team, even WC had Lynch, Hansen.

Maybe Hey is an idea. Rotate two of rucks between ruck and forward. Rotate Morabito, and Fyfe between midfield and forward. Have Pavlich and Mayne as Perm forwards. Thats 4 players over 188cm in the forward line.

Then Draft with our second and third draft picks and rookie list picks some talls like last draft.

With the extra cash we could get another star midfielder via free agency.

Clarke could kick 4 goals in a game if he was defended by Pettard

It was definitely beneficial but on the other hand if we have a large, fast, contested marking body it means that genuine key defenders aren't standing Chris Mayne.

White may not be THE guy, but at the moment I think he is worth the punt. He looks like he could outrun and out-mark Bradley.

Gumby is an idiot and so is his manager. They should have seen the writing on the wall before signing again out of 'loyalty'.
That 5.4 was against Bendigo Gold, a team with a percentage of 36. They would struggle against most WAFL reserve sides (ironically, they could probably beat Peel ressies). Hell Ben Bucovaz kicked 5 against a weak Peel side once, should we redraft him?

I don't think we should get Gumby, too injury prone. All I was saying was that he and his manager didn't do himself any favors by staying at Essendon in terms of playing time etc.
