as a cats man I sent my mate (a hawks man) a text saying, "bring on the dockers week 1 #vengeance"..He replied saying "bring on the swans week 1 # vengeance".

Love it
Won't happen
Hawks will play Freo, Cats will play Swans!

FWIW:

Friday night: Hawthorn v Sydney at the MCG (after they played at ANZ the previous Friday!)
Saturday afternoon: Richmond v Port at the MCG
Saturday night: Geelong v Fremantle at Etihad
Sunday afternoon: Collingwood v Carlton at the MCG

Haha no way Port v Richmond deserves to be at the MCG.

So we are morals to lose to the Swans next week? A club that has failed to defeat a top 4 contender this year...Right

A lose would put us in the frame to host the Dockers at Ethiad with back-to-back-to-back matches on less than ideal tracks
Not morals, but I think a good chance for it to happen
Just what I think will happen, and tbh not fussed if it does

Richmond have 60k members and haven't made the finals in 12 years. It ain't rocket science.

Tigers will finish 6th or 7th and play an interstate side. Oh just cause they haven't made the finals in over a decade doesn't give them rights on the best ground and time slot.

Where would you prefer Sydney to play their home finals SCG or ANZ? Size shouldn't come into it now with the upgrades they've made to Simmonds.
It ultimately comes down to a business decision. No business is ever going to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars when there is an alternative available that will make them more money. Fact is until SS holds close to Etihads capacity, it's not going to happen. Not saying it's right, but it's a fact.

What is this concept of "rights" you speak of? Richmond-Port is more likely to sell out Etihad than Geelong-Freo.

It's the right that comes with finishing higher on the ladder. It's why the team that finishes top of the ladder plays first and gets the longest break. It's not "rocket science".

Plays first, and gets the longer break?

Yeah as a consequence of playing first....

Swans would want to put in a good effort next week, they are 0-3 vs Hawks and Cats with a total losing margin of 102 points. By comparison North is 1-3 with a net losing margin of 11 points.

ummmm who cares?? were in top 4, we start from scratch with all other teams now.. previous wins will mean nothing..

would like to point out to everyone that patersons stadium is only available on the friday night for the second week, so if freo finsih 3rd and collingwood finish 6th, or 4th and 5th. then the collingwood game (or the freo game) can't be on sunday. so it may be looking like we will be having an unnecessary 9 day break for the last round and to then face 2 six day breaks in a row plus interstate travel during during finals.

again WHY DID THE AFL SCHEDULE US FOR SUNDAY ROUND 23?!?!?!

Irrelevant. Freo aren't that great and are too in tune to beating up crappy sides. They've had like 2 or3 top 8 teams in the back half of the season or something? And lost 2 of them.

Hawks and Cats will cruise into week 3.

Havent lost Etihad under Ross. It would be far from a cruise for you guys. If cats arent on their A game they will get rolled there
