Finals Wk 1
QF1 | 1-HAW vs SYD-4 | MCG | Fr
QF2 | 2-GEE vs FRE-3 | DS | Sa
EF1 | 5-RIC vs CAR-8 | MCG | Sa N
EF2 | 6-COL vs PA-7 | MCG | Su

In no way do I believe a QF should be relegated to DS, but this is what I reckon the AFL will do.

I'll really get the LOL's if RIC go out in Wk 1 against a team that finished 9th.

Can I just ask, should DS be ES? As in Etihad Stadium? I can't for the life of me think of a DS!

Cats will pound Lions next week and finish top by %
Hawks will lose to Swans and finish 2nd
Freo will win tonight and v Saints to finish 3rd by %
Swans will finish 4th

Cats v Swans
Hawks v Freo

Please explain this, are you saying Freo will lose to the Saints & finish above Sydney on %

Where would you prefer Sydney to play their home finals SCG or ANZ? Size shouldn't come into it now with the upgrades they've made to Simmonds.

I agree with you, Sydney would prefer to play at the SCG, but that won't happen because of the greedy AFL$$$.
The Geelong/Sydney yesterday only had 28500, not enough for a final.

Swans would want to put in a good effort next week, they are 0-3 vs Hawks and Cats with a total losing margin of 102 points. By comparison North is 1-3 with a net losing margin of 11 points.

Newsflash: Sydney will finish 4th and travel to Melbourne to play Hawthorn or Geelong in a Qualifying Final

Don't think anyone at the Swans would care about losing to Hawthorn and Geelong late in the season if they were able to turn the tables in the Qualifying Final

I'm hearing a lot about Freo not having lost at Etihad under Lyon.

Can someone tell me which teams they have played there?

2012 - St Kilda (13 Points), Melbourne (34 Points), North Melbourne (59 Points)
2013 - Western Bulldogs (28 Points), Carlton (36 Points)

All pretty comfortable wins really against some average competition. Would still be feeling comfortable playing Geelong there. Gotta play there this coming weekend against St Kilda though, so we'll see.

Another tough, contested game coming up for Freo then? :p

Consider me the ABC of posters. I don't recognise corporate sponsoring of stadiums that generally change every 4 or 5 years.

Docklands Stadium (DS)
Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)
Subiaco Oval (SO)
Football Park (FP)
Kardinia Park (KP)
Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG)
Showgrounds Stadium (SS)
Gabba (G)
Carrara Stadium (CS)
Manuka Oval (MO)
Bellerive Oval (BO)
York Park (YP)

You must fairly young if you have never heard of the reference to Docklands Stadium.

Actually, I'm not! Sometimes though, you can look at something and go through all the options but still come up blank!!

St Kilda had an awesome record at Etihad under Ross. Counted for sfa in the washup.

Funny how everyone refers to all of these pointless stats when talking of Ross Lyon. How about the fact that he had arguably the best list of the last 10 years and couldn't win a flag with it? His inability to play a game that stands up in finals, etc, etc..

He sure beats up shit sides though, I'll give him that.

You really hate him and Fremantle don't you? :D

Just putting the facts out there champ. Facts.

???

So are you saying that the Ross Lyon Saints teams were a better list than your Geelong dynasty teams.

Are they the facts?

Clueless.

Actually, it's quite commonly pointed out how he had a pretty ordinary list and made them play to their full potential to almost win a flag...

You wouldn't have a lot of confidence going into the finals if you had lost to both main contenders twice in the year and lost comfortably. I know Hawks lost to them last year in the GF but that was a bit of a choke. Their footy is about containing sides to a winnable score and they can't contain Hawks and Cats. If your only hope is a choke then that is going to be an iffy finals series.
