Davey might be lazy but his speed makes up for it most of the time and defenders are usually worried when hes around.

Davey's speed only worries opposition once every 5 minutes due to his poor repeat efforts. If you want a bloke who does about 5 sprints per quarter and is useless for the other 20 minutes then Davey is your man.

There's a lot of romance in the idea of getting NDS, partly built up by history rather than present day reality. In our side he would be a good/classy midfielder. Nothing more, nothing less, but guess what? We have a lot of those already.
So i agree with you, when it comes to the money issue, NDS is not where our money would be best spent at this point in time. Give the side another year, see how the midfielders come on, then go for Montagna if appropriate next time around. Bet any money you like that we are not talking about getting Montagna this time next year. Our midfield will be looking awesome and we will be in need of a Licka type forward.
