This set list site I visit links you tube videos of Bruce songs when you look up the set list of a particular show. I's not necessarily a you tube video of a performance from that show. It's always good when you see an obscure song which you have never heard before and click the link and watch a you tube video of a performance or of a recording of the song.

I went in to look at at an old show and checked the Incident you tube. He now has linked the Hanging Rock version to every performance on the set list where it has been played. Eg check out the set list and link for Main Point in 1975. Its the HR2 video

Shows how a good a performance by Bruce and video filming was by TheAussiemusicman who has some corker videos from all 10 shows in Oz earlier this year, the guys at this website thought it was.

Am I the only one weirded out by that doco?
There are definitely a few stories in there that creeped me out and some that were just plain boring. I'm not sure what their rationale was for including them, but you would have to think that were a ton of other submissions that would have made the doco far, far better. There's a heap of excellent submissions that didn't make the cut on Youtube.

The HRC clips and the meet-up at the end were great.

The director made a call on what he wanted. Usually a film is the directors, ie its his interpretation of a script or in a doco an issue.. Any doco maker know he needs to grab his audience's attention so something spooky controversial creepy was always going to make it. It wasn't going to all be nice and sweet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springsteen_&_I

Ballie Walsh stated, "We are searching for a wide variety of creative interpretations, captured in the most visually exciting way you can think of, whether you've been a hardcore Tramp since '73 or have heard one of his songs for the first time today! If you have a parent, a sibling, a neighbor or a colleague who has an interesting tale, we want to know about them. If you can't use a camera or are not sure how to capture your story then get in touch and we will link you up with someone who can!"

.....

Walsh said of the film that he went through over 300 hours of footage, watching everything that was sent to him. "I felt very much a responsibility to do so. Enormous effort went into [filming those submissions] from thousands of people. I was worried that we were going to get 4,000 hours, that would have been a real problem. Three hundred hours was manageable. Every day we saw something new. Every day was exciting.” Walsh said. Walsh spent six months editing the film and while there’s certainly a lot of love for Bruce in the documentary, there were some things that he steered away from. "There were stories about how generous he is, stuff about 9/11, and he comes off a bit god-like, and I didn’t feel comfortable with those stories. I think this film doesn’t build Bruce to be a god. There’s an undercurrent that he’s a very decent man, and that does come across in the stories that are told. It’s just very heartfelt stories of people talking about how Bruce and his music has affected their lives. One guy from Israel says, ‘Bruce taught me how to be a man — a decent man.’ That’s who Bruce is. I really tried not to make it heavy-handed. I didn’t come to the film as a Bruce Springsteen fan. I’m leaving it as a great admirer. I think his career is astonishing. I think the fact that he’s still producing relevant music — the fact that [in 2012 he released]Wrecking Ball at the age of 60, that’s an amazing."

This link is the fuller interview with the director that the wiki page above quoted. At the end he says

With 300 hours of fan footage, there was a bit of material left on the cutting room floor. It’s worth wondering if any of it will make the DVD release, giving hardcore fans another shot at a moment of glory.
“That’s not for me to say — I hope there is, there’s a lot of great stuff that wasn’t in the film,” Walsh said. “They want more live stuff on the DVD and more Bruce on the DVD, the distributor believes that that’s what is gonna sell this movie. I believe that it’s the heart and the emotion that sells this movie, on top of Bruce’s music. I’m going to make a strong case [for more fan footage on the DVD].”

Found the video that the Philly Elvis submitted to the Springsteen and I competition. Probably the 5 minutes between 2:30 and 11:00 made it to the doco.

I have no idea where the f*ck he came from... thank you King

Stevie reckons don't expect a new album on its way soon.

It's been widely reported that Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band did some studio recording during the Australian leg of its Wrecking Ball World Tour in March.

But guitarist Steve Van Zandt, who had to miss the 10 shows Down Under because of his commitments to Netflix's "Lilyhammer" show, tells us that fans shouldn't get their hopes up for an imminent new album:

"Oh, he's always doing that. You can't be too, you can't predict what's gonna happen with things like that because Bruce is always recording. He's always writing. He always has an album or two in his pocket, yeah, so that's not an unusual thing. We'll all find out what he has in mind about five minutes before he does it but, yeah, that doesn't mean anything...He's always, always writing and recording."

This Springsteen and I from 3 women in Israel I found on Wednesday night. The open few seconds is a bit confronting and I'm a bit surprised it didn't make it.

Bruce working on his fans for his 2028 concerts.

This is the best kids Waitin' On A Sunny Day performance I've seen and Bruce is loving them, taking over the song.
