I think BMac is a great teacher and he will have his work cut out with Maurice chevalier
Glad to see that the Conlon Express has a new passenger. Stopping at Station 42.Crikey. Just watched Conlon highlight reel. Want. Ginger Tippett.
Pretty sure there is only 1 month difference between him and Aish still mystified were taking him at #4 but seems alot of people are stoked with him so hopefully we get the next Kouta x Pendles. Anyways ill stop whinging now, if he doesn't work out alot of people are going to be calling for Dalyrmples head. Huge mistake passing on Aish/Billings though imo.
A big call by the club - fingers crossedIf we do go down this track [ Bono], lets hope to hell it works out, and he turns out to be a Kouta/Pendles, because if he ends up another Everitt
[ and perhaps mathematically the odds lean that way], then we may well have seriously blown the last chance for a top 5 pick we may get for a decade.
Fine if the club is totally convinced on him [ clearly I am not], I will support their decision, I just hope to heaven they are not simply being seduced by his height.
Nah, it's just the lighting.Looks photoshopped?
I can't see a side who has just lost five players to homesickness taking the massive risk that is Conlon, four second rounders or not.Conlon won't go past any of Brisbanes second rounders. No chance of landing at us
We should get Matt Rendell if we do sack Dalrymple.Bollards on the line time for dalrymple. If the big bont busts and aish is an ace, its career over for simon I'm afraid.
And if Stringer, Macrae, and Hrovat end up the equivalent of Voss, Black and Lappin?Bollards on the line time for dalrymple. If the big bont busts and aish is an ace, its career over for simon I'm afraid.
Honest question, which of our young possible mids are poor/mediocre kicks? The thing I fear, and am slowly beginning to expect, is our midfield in 5 years being a bunch of strong, ferocious, one-paced, mediocre kicks of varying heights.
Just asking, do you know Conlon's situation? Not having a go but I wasn't referring to homesickness; Conlon hasn't played football in over 18 months due to injuries. We have nothing to go on but his underage form. Those second rounders need to offset the losses they had in both their depth and young player stocks; I'd be staggered if the Lions took someone with so much risk attached so early. They're also stacked with young KPFs who just haven't been given games - and they're drafting one in Freeman. I would be shocked if they take him with a second rounder.Doesn't necessarily mean they would only draft Queenslanders or something like that though. They just didn't get the right types of people first time around. Yeo is their only real loss, Karnezis never cemented a place and I'm wondering how he will get into the Pies team. Polec got too many injuries which would have been a factor in wanting to go home to SA, while Longer struggled for game time with Leuenberger returning to top condition and form (sub rule didn't help). Longer for me highlights the dangers of using early picks on ruckmen too. As said by many people, 99% of people would go anywhere to play AFL, just cos it fell apart for them this year it doesn't mean they should change their thinking. But back on topic even if they don't, based on talent I can't see him lasting long enough to us at 42. But if he does I'm sure we'd pull the trigger and it would be brilliant for us

Darcy Lang strikes me as an odd pick to suggest we would get as he is a quick inside midfielder
