Yeah if Crouch slides to us it's a no-brainer in my view. He is my first preference.

There are no decent forwards available to us at 26. Next year is a KPP draft, we can last the year surely? This hits the nail on the head. We do not want to wind up like Carlton i.e. "Ooo lets solely draft midfielders, surely a basketcase forwardline doesn't matter?"
If a ruckmen is that good, and worth a second round pick, you pick them no matter who was on your list already.

I'm not necessarily saying a KPP, I'm saying that a roaming 3rd tall such as Marsh is what we need. And if Conlon is available with pick 55 or or the rookie draft then I want him too. It just seems silly that we would avoid getting the players we need to plug holes just because this is a midfielders draft.
Its not plausible to say we'll be contenders within the next 2-3 years if we don't fill the holes NOW.

A mid 'tweener forward is really going to push us from that 8th spot to top 4?
Does he?

I would have thought a hulking forward would have with that 'tweener forward rounding out the forward line.
I do not get the love for Marsh, I really don't!
To be fair, I don't think there would be a single player that would be within our reach, that could.
Marsh fills the hole left by Crameri (3rd tall who once his tank builds up can rotate through the midfield). I reckon Conlon fills the other KPF void nicely as well.
And for your information if not for the ASADA rubbish we probably would of stayed in the top 4, and that was without a genuine stay at home KPF getting a regular game (Daniher and Gumbleton only got the occasional game).
Three problems with that
1) Marsh SHOULD NOT be playing AFL games in 2014
2) Crameri played more as a KPP when in fact he was undersized.
3) Marsh sounds like a 3rd tall when we need KPF's

On that basis, Thorpe should be considered.
I recognise all of this. But:
1) He may get some senior games, but would spend most of his time in the VFL in 2014.
2) Yes I know, and that's because the club hadn't drafted ANY genuine KPF's (until Daniher) since we drafted Gumbleton. That's what 6 or 7 years without getting a young key forward (I don't count Hurley because lets be honest he's a KPD not a KPF).
3) Notice in my previous post I said Marsh will play as a 3rd tall.
Marsh would play as a 3rd tall, yes! we need a true KPP though.
How many 3rd talls will that be for us then?? We seem to have so many....
As far as analysis goes, sure, but there are always early surprises or sliders.
