Taylor I thought would be around the 15-25 range, has some limitations. Dumont I was surprised about but there is always one. I am just beyond happy that Apeness isn't on our list and we didn't stretch for Lobb!

Taylor was aligned to Gws at 14 for over a week obviousily they didnt think McCarthy would be available.

Im just glad we didnt stretch for Marsh at 26

Would have taken Marsh at 55, but I understand the selection at 55, pacy midfielders are something we have lacked post Lovett.

Why can't we delist and re-rookie Jetta like we did with Steinberg last year? Means we would get a PSD pick and a rookie pick, but that would allow us the best chance of getting some decent talent.

Any two of: Cameron, Conlon, Reynolds, Templeton, Hourigan, Thorp, Battersby, Wilson, Bourke, Tsitas - would be great IMO

Foresight drafting. If they don't make improvement and play more than 5-7 games first cabs of the ranks would be Jetta, Colyer, Dell with Winders and Chappy probably two years away from retiring. With a supposed KP draft next year, wouldn't be surprised if we went another small and a back up ruck in the rookies.

Even with project talls you can dress it up as huge upside but when they say his best is great, his worst is horrible it must be a worry...

I'd prefer the consistent ok guy with room to improve rather

First, great to have another Italian on board.

My initial frustration with the outcome probably becomes the source of my excitement as far as these two newest recruits are concerned.

At every turn Bomber has hinted at the need to get some talls (despite everyone looking to conspiracy he is really an open book on most things). You don't have to be a two time premiership coach to work out that we need a ruck and a key forward project but we've gone small, skilful and fast. Interesting that Dumont was available at 26 and I would have said that we could do with another inside midfielder. At the risk reading too much into it, selection of Merrett probably also says that we're happy with our existing inside mid stocks (which is encouraging).

I wouldn't usually look at it so positively but can't help feeling that we've nabbed another two gems simply because we really don't seem to be getting much wrong with our selections.

Dodoro hinted at going for best available again with our two rookie selections but I hope that we look to take on a couple of big athletic guys if they are available. Only thing Sikora has going for him, as far as I'm concerned, is that we asked him to train with us. On what I've seen he is really only the old fashioned tap ruckman and plodder which type doesn't really have a role in footy any more.
