Yep, I overheard Simmo sending a runner out to "Longy"'s group to tell them they were doing 20% less than the other 2 groups - assume Longmuir had the forwards.
Also saw Gepp go over to another greybeard and start pointing at somebody - then watched Simmo move over to them and ask what did they see? How did they think that drill had gone? Good to see he doesn't think he sees and knows everything himself.
NicNat did some heavy running early, then minimal kicking and later handball drills so he wasn't just playing pocket billiards ....
Defence coach was shouting at Browny to get the boys in place - grooming him as a leader? Browny looks sharp, lean but ripped. All players being encouraged to take on their opponent and just go for it. Good scragging of each other at the bounces. Bunga lean and keen, training in defence.
JK took a shot every time he got the ball (others just passed the ball back to restart the drills), still stuttering but slotting most of them.
Great to see Niko running behind and with Bennell - really getting him to move - seems heavily involved with the recovery group. Niko looks in good shape.
Cameras all connected up to laptops everywhere - must have been 10-12 of them all with guys zooming, recording, etc.
The guys all looked good. Definitely more intensity than last year AND more enthusiasm from almost everyone (Hill still looks laconic). Good to see the boxing gloves and pads being used - Coxy boxing with (I think) Barass, pushing him. Smith also had a go - didn't fiddle with his hair as much either.

McGovern looks the leanest I've ever see him, looks really good, has a more defined face/body than his previous puppy fat covering..

Ch7 said Selwood, Priddis and Darling leeding the way in training and skills.
I know every team is "training the house down" during the preseason, but I thought this was pretty interesting:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-12-12/swans-get-pace-injection
Read today that yesterday's marathon days training was held over three locations ,.... McGilvray Oval ( 2hrs ) followed by Kings Park running session before swimming , lifting weights and further training at Pattersons Stadium .!!!!
Also on a side note WCE and the Victoria Park Council have agreed on a 50 million upgrade of Lathlain park with the WCE , with West Coast moving to the Lathlain Park premises in 2017 ready for the change to the new Burswood Perth Stadium opening in 2017 / 2018 .
EFARight in time for Simpson to bring home his third flag.
I didn't realise that was Sydney's gameplan? What good is pace when your game plan involves slowing the game down to a maul.![]()
Yay, now he can look even MORE like Tarzan and play like Jane's sister Wendy.
I didn't realise that was Sydney's gameplan?
I thought pace was critical to the spread they tried to generate from contests, the rebound style of footy they play and was also an area some of their inside mids could improve on.
Oh and trust Easternhills to like your post, clueless as usual.
I don't get this. Brown routinely throws himself at the contest.

True. But always looks weak in a contest. Want Brown to succeed but have serious doubts he will.Agreed. One thing Brown doesn't do is shirk the contest. Shit comment.
You think I was serious? You think he was serious?
Sydney's game plan still relies on excellent negating work, they're midfielders get back in mass to form a defensive press and they're one of the first teams that started putting additional numbers at stoppages back in the mid 00's. Which all teams do till this day.
Edit: Screw it. Welcome to my ignore list.
