NASCAR Related - Nationwide drivers Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet had a dramatic finish at the prestigous Trophy Cup Sprintcar Race in California on the weekend. Both nights of the event had exciting finishes, with the winning margin on night one being 0.003 seconds. Much better racing than Sprint Cup at 'Dega ;) . Larson won both the second night A-Main and the Trophy Cup overall, the former after coming from his P24ish starting position.

Larson is in the white car with the red 57 and Sweet is in the white car with the black #4.

Jimmie wins
Dale Jr 2nd
Logano 3rd

Marcos 21st

It's pretty much down to Jimmie vs Kenseth , Jimmie leads by 7 pts
Harvick 3rd 40 pts back

Marcos 21st in points

That one race at the very beginning of the chase has killed Dale Jr.

Kevin *stick wins in Phoenix
Kasey Kahne 2nd
JJ 3rd
Kenseth 23rd

Marcos 26th

SO.....
it all comes down to the final race at Homestead
Jimmie Johnson leads Kenseth by 28 and *stick by 34
Nobody else can win it.

Marcos dropped 1 spot to sit 22nd in points...will now get beaten by his teamate and JPM will probably beat him too o_O

Basically in short a finish of 23rd or better guarantees him the championship, thats under the assumption Kenseth leads most laps and wins.

At the other end of the scale, get a last long look this week at messrs Burton, Labonte and Martin, for we may not see much of them again in the top series if not at all.

Martin has said he isn't racing next year, Burton is doing a part-time schedule and Labonte is a free agent at this stage.

Hamlin finishes off his shocker year with a win at Homestead

Kenseth finished 2nd , which wasn't enough as 6-time finished 9th ( *stick was 10th )
So.....

Jimmie Johnson 2419
Matt Kenseth 2400
Kevin *stick 2385

Marcos finished 26th in Miami and ended 22nd in points.

From Marcos -

“It has been a difficult year for us, but we’re determined to get better before next February,” said Ambrose. “We have rules changes and testing coming up in a few weeks. We’re going to be working hard in December and January to ensure that we have a better 2014. We will put this year behind us and be ready to go for the Daytona 500.”

2014 Season for some NASCAR drivers has started or continued this weekend at the Chili Bowl for Speedcars in Tulsa, OK. The event has around 280 entries this year, with racing going over 5 nights. On Night 1, Kyle Larson won the Race of Champions, which included other NASCAR Drivers Kasey Kahne (8th), Kevin Swindell (11th) and J.J. Yeley (12th). Kahne is running a Jason Leffler tribute car this year, which is the car Tony Stewart ran last year. In the qualifying A-Features, only the top 3 place getters directly qualify for the Saturday night 55 lap final.

In the Night 1 Chili Bowl Qualifying A-Feature, Larson ran 5th from the 16th starting position. On Night 2, J.J Yeley crashed out on the last corner of the A-Feature Qualifier whilst running 4th after contact. On Night 3, Kevin Swindell drove to 4th in the Qualifying night A-Featrure after starting 13th in the C-Feature, effectively passing 37 cars for position in the process. Ricky Stenhouse Jr started 3rd in his C-Feature and drove to 5th in his B-Feautre, missing the A-Feature by 1 spot. The A-Feature was won by a teenager called Christopher Bell, who many dirt track people are likening to a younger Kyle Larson. Have mentioned him in this thread before - I believe if given a NASCAR lifeline could do a similar job to what Larson is. Also directly transferring to the Saturday A-Feature for the 3rd time in 3 Chili Bowl attempts was Kiwi Michael Pickens. There are still 2 more nights of action to come.
