Just rewound it then. Wasn't coping with the flash photography at all, what with light sensitivity one of the primary symptoms of concussion/migraines.

Hope Glass goes for a good while.

Picked off Stewart last year and got away with it over a matter of inches. Deserves a spell.
I was worried for him I saw the team song he looked like he was about to collapse

It is going to be interesting to see how many we get to the game next weekend. If it was any other time slot I reckon we would have pushed 45k but given it is the last day of school
Holidays and essentially a Sunday night I think around 36k would be acceptable.

Unfortunately Geelong's appearance on Easter Monday has dudded us here, what with them requiring a minimum 6-day break.

Even more frustrating when you consider the two Saturday night games are MELvSYD & CARvWCE.

Move over Michael Pope, dems the real Blockbusters!

Ins: Hombsch (if fit), otherwise Clurey. Butcher.
Outs : Wingard (injured) - either from tonight or just needs another week in general. Clearly not fit, S. Gray.

Possible change:
Impey had an up and down game. I definitely think he's one where we need to manage his workload and give a regular game off during the year to avoid burnout. Whether it's against Geelong depends on whether Motlop comes up by then. If Motlop is back I'd keep Impey to play on him and rest the following week. Otherwise out for a week off and Moore in to replace him.

Anything under 40k would be a flop imo

I disagree because of the three following reasons:

1. Country supporters find it harder to attend Sunday night games.

2. It's harder for geelong supporters to attend the game.

3. It's the last day of school holidays.

If Geelong pump Hawthorn by a reasonable margin (note: I don't actually think that will happen) then the game will be 1v2.

I'm that excited about the game, I would go to adelaide oval now to wait for the game, if it wasn't for the fact I would have to spend 4 or so hours with crows supporters.

This is probably for another topic but relevant to your post....

The commentators were praising our game tonight and thankful for it as they were saying the games this season have been duds....

Afl could have really messed the eveness of the comp with the introduction of gws and gc

Did you get a look at him right after he kicked the goal? Looked on the verge of tears. I mean in a manly kind of way. :p Like it was overwhelming to kick that goal after he'd had such a crap night by his standards, crossed with being pissed off at the dirty hit he'd just copped.

Really want Butch back in. West Coast's tall backs were killing us all game because they only had one and a half KPF's to match up on. If West Coast can do that to us, Geelong will do it twice as bad, being the team that pretty much invented and perfected the run from half back game. Taylor and Rivers are both fantastic intercept marks, and we need three talls in our forward line to keep them both occupied. Down the other end of the field, as much as I like Hombsch, we can probably live without him against the Cats who don't have particularly strong KPF's. I'd rather give him an easy game at SANFL level to get back into it before bringing him back against GWS the following week, against whom we'll definitely need him against the Patton/Cameron/Boyd show.

Butcher in. Wingard out if he's not fit to play. If Wingard is fit to play, then I guess one of Impey or Sam Gray goes out. Either would be unlucky, but I cannot see us beating the Cats if we don't go in with three talls up forward so somebody's got to go. Leaning towards Impey out, as I think Sam Gray deserves more of a chance at AFL level after a bloody good game last week and a few nice glimpses tonight. A few people weren't happy with his game, I think that those people should watch the reply and see how many contested balls he won when he was outnumbered by West Coast players.

B: T. Jonas, A. Carlile, C. O'Shea
HB: J. Pittard, J. Trengove, M. Broadbent
C: H. Hartlett, O. Wines, K. Cornes
HF: M. White, J. Westhoff, R. Gray
F: C. Wingard/S. Gray, J. Schulz, J. Butcher
R: M. Lobbe, T. Boak, B. Ebert
Int: J. Polec, D. Cassisi, A. Young
Sub: S. Gray/J. Impey

Yeah, nah.

Hawthorn have 514 for, 305 against. If they lose 89 to 90, that will give them 603 to 395, for a percentage of 152.7. That would put us above them, based on our percentage of 157.7.

Even better :p

Let's wait until late Monday afternoon and come back to this discussion. ;)

I don't care if he doesn't get a touch on Monday. I'd play a 200cm stobie pole if that would require Harry Taylor to man it up all day rather than playing as a loose man.

geelong have some big strong bodies so i dont think s.gray should play against them. just want another big boy in the middle so one of newton/moore in. also i think we tended to go wide sometimes because my prophecy of the opposition talls owning the centre corridor in front of goals came true and we went wide and/or hesitated going forward. in the end our midfield kicked a winning score but its not the way i always think we should rely on winning games. too easy to watch momentum swing when your midfield has to play like that.

in

hombsh , best performed of newton/moore.

out

s.gray,

dunno to be honest. i dont think impey was as bad as others have made out. a few mistakes but also worked his butt off. wouldnt mind taking him out for one of newton/moore.

if wingard isnt good to go think about butcher in as well.

Out: Wingard, O'shea
In: Hombsch, Butcher

Give Wingard a bit more time to recover and to make sure he's 100%, I also think If Hombsch is healthy, O'shea has to make room for him.

I think our forward line functions better with the extra tall up there, so I'd get Butch back in the fray. When Wingard is back to his fittest, Sam Gray might have to make way.

Actually think it was Impeys best game a few clangers but on a learning curve in a very high pressure game Ken didn't sub him he's not dropping him I'm thinking? Homsch back in maybe Young out.

Wingard will play, he's got 8 days to recover. The kid is a jet and will bounce back.

I want to see the Maggies play before deciding ins and outs.

In terms of crowd, I'm expecting around 45K - 48k, it may very well be a sell out. A lot of AO members will come and watch and it's early enough not to interfere with school the next day. The game will finish at about 6.40 pm giving time for even country folks to get back home.
