I don't care if he doesn't get a touch on Monday. I'd play a 200cm stobie pole if that would require Harry Taylor to man it up all day rather than playing as a loose man.

If last night's game didn't convince people that we need Butch (or equiv) in the team then they never will be. That game was nearly lost at the selection table. 22 (50%) more forward entries for 1 less scoring shot than the WCE. The number of times Schulz was double teamed or we looked up to see no target was ridiculous and just wouldn't have happened with another tall up there. Butch in there last night and we win by at least 2 more goals.

Was very happy that Pittard stayed in the side. I was furious at him the last couple of weeks. He played very well last night.

Too early for "IN's"

Possible OUTS: S Gray, Wingard. Nobody else will be out unless injury or absolutely epic SANFL efforts

Is it time for P Stewart to have another crack up forward?
Out - S Gray
In - Stewart
Impey - sub (I think he needs a rest by Ken will keep playing him)

Need to be cold blooded with this one
OUT: Wingard (injury plus probably wasn't fit anyway), Impey (rest and recharge in the SANFL), Sam Gray (Cats are too big a leap in his development), Young (didn't do enough)
IN: Clurey, Newton, other 2 after watching the Maggies tomorrow.

I'll admit Gray looked a bit lost out there (was a good move to sub him) he probably did it too easy the week before against a depleted Brisbane. I like Clurey though and hope to see him sooner than later.

Not sure about giving Impey a rest because his closing speed is phenomenal, alright he makes some mistakes but he is still so new to the game and the more time he spends out trying 100% can only be a good thing.

yep, not to mention:

I think we are building for a premiership which means we have to invest in our players and give them development time at the highest level

Impey's not really any higher in the pecking order than Newton, Colquhoun, and Moore and those guys are in need of AFL games as well if we are to maintain our depth.

Impey is required for Geelong IMO.

Get our fastest players on the track for this one.

OUT: S. Gray, Young
IN: Moore/Newton, Hombsch

Hombsch, Jonas, Carlile, Trengove as the tall backs means that Westhoff can spend more time up forward and that Lobbe can push up there when Trengove is rucking.

Cassisi sub and comes in the 4th quarter when the game has slowed down.

Depending on the Maggies tomorrow, but if Butch kicks another bag, would he be back in the side?
Depending how Sammies ankle is, he may be out. likewise Impey might get a rest for a week, but what better side to learn off for Jarman than the cats?
Wingard and Trangove may be forced outs, depending how they pull up this week.

Hitchy with another good game tomorrow may be looked at? Mitchell? who knows... but IN KEN WE TRUST!

If they were fully fit I'd agree, but with Motlop and Christensen out injured that need is less pronounced. They've got a few other quick players in Travis Varcoe and Jordan Murdoch, but while those guys are decent they're not really of a high enough quality that we should be considering changing our 22 to counter them.

Thinking we lack a high quality small defender and we need to develop one, Impey has leapfroged Hoon. Newton and Moore are being held out by Dom and he just ain't in a hurry to move on by the looks of things.

Maybe a concern that we haven't used a running player as Sub last 3 games Pittard not suited to the role and Young maybe more an inside player, Hoons done Ok against the Cats previously could open the door for him?

I wouldn't have played Impey against West Coast because he hadn't done enough the previous two weeks with a couple of 8 disposal games. He was lucky to hold his spot and at half time last night his spot was looking very shaky.

On the other hand while the finals like pressure caught him out a couple of times in the first half (understandable for a young kid in his first season) he finished like the proverbial house on fire collected 16 disposals and hurt West Coast at the end with his pace, desperation and clever play.

There's no need to rest him as he's showing no signs of fatigue and he showed he can find the ball at the business end of a game.

All hands on deck for this one

In: Hombsch, Butcher, Monfries (if fit)
Out: O'Shea, S. Gray, Impey (if Monfries comes in)
