Yeh I will be that guy.

1. Unimpressive muddle through against a team that is learning to play footy. We are a mile off the good teams. If the Dees can pressure us I shudder to think what the Cats would do with our turnovers.

2. Last week was good play but flattering. Freo got beat at home by a side they normally dominate so the form is not that good and it showed tonight. The game plan still needs looking at.

3. Goodes. A geriatric football player with dodgy knees still is better than 9 out 10 out there. Not their fault, he is just that good.

1.goodes looked very classy, and skills were much better tonight than last year. Looks happy to be out there

Lets all enjoy it for one last year and we see the fairytale ending on that last Saturday in September. ;)

1.We are injury prone
2.We can provide a clanger out of nothing
3.This has been an under estimated win - we played a side intent on not getting flogged, not a side trying to win.

1. As naive as it seems, I didn't think my admiration for Goodes could grow anymore. It did tonight.

2. You can't underestimate how long it takes to get used to building a game plan when the side is never settled. We need two of Buddy, Tippo and Reid in the side to truly challenge.

3. We need to drop the arrogance asap.

1. Adam Goodes is Adam Goodes - the one, the only. The best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be. Enjoy watching him play every last second from now until he retires. We are watching someone we never see the likes of again and we are damn lucky to be witness to it.
2. I'm sure I saw a crowbar used on Buddy at some point in an effort to stop him along with other tactics. Lynden Dunn was one Melbourne defender who was sniping off the ball, sledging players but will be sleeping with the lights on tonight. Weak prick.
3. Always wondered what a team of Heath Grundy clones would look like considering SM always goes on about him. Melbourne is that team. Long way off

Lrt has been a great servant for our club, but frankly his career is over.

This year has proven to be a good transition year of sorts, players like okeefe and lrt have been found out and are being replaced.

We have learnt the team looks better without okeefe in the side and we will when Reid replaces lrt. The team will just have another dynamic to it when Reid is in and lrt is out

1. Nathan Jones is Ablett like, an unstoppable bull with elite skills. God I hope his brother is half as good.

2. Harry Cunningham has arrived. Brilliant defensive effort two weeks in a row.

3. Laidler's endeavour is good but he couldnt hit the side of a barn with that left foot under pressure.

1. Upon watching us live for the first time this year, I now realize why we are kicking it long to a contest on the wing from half back. We have a lot, and I mean a lot, of players who struggle with the 25 metre pass to a player stationary in space. Against anyone good the number of missed targets in the centre corridor would have killed us.

2. We are already too tall and too slow in the forward line. Tippett for lrt will improve the marking but won't do much for speed. We need to find someone who can get to the fall of the ball quicker. Lrt can't play as a defensive forward any longer.

3. There is a lot of effort in this team - shaw, laidler, Cunningham, rampe, McGlynn, hanners, jack, Parker, jpk, derickx, Pyke, reg, Richards are all doing a phenomenal job at getting the very best out of themselves. It's not always pretty, and sometimes it's not even pretty effective but they really worked hard to push into space to deliver the ball, to tackle, spoil, smother. I don't think I properly appreciated the extent to which some of our side really do play consistently to the edge of their abilities.

1 : Goodes on 2 bad knees still and has to carry the team , I never wont him to retire.

2 : We are miles and miles from the top teams atm and where we are on the ladder is around where will finish.

3: The kicking long to out numbered contest along the wing and going forward will not stand up against the top

1. The game was absolutely over officiated it was dreadful, the fee kick count of Swans 13 Demons 18 has nothing to do with my comments but it was disgraceful, actually I can say the same for the whole round so far.

2. No offence meant to Derrickx as he has a crack but we badly miss a quality number 1 ruck we got smashed in the ruck, if Pyke gets injured we could be in a little trouble.

3. Adam Goodes don't do ressies, amazing how a bloke can still have fine touch after 10 months out he must sleep with a sherrin, actually this point isn't really something I learnt I was never in doubt.

2.1, the ruck situation is nothing new so Ill add something else, Ive always been critical of Shaw not having an opposite foot and how anyone at the highest level can suck so badly at it but last night I saw him try handball with his right hand across his body to his right side, closer to a throw come on mate you're kidding aren't ya? That's simple under 12's stuff spend a few weeks at training using nothing but your opposite side.

1. A win is a win after a 1.3 start
2. Ideas seem fine, execution needs work
3. If McGlynn kept his feet in contests he'd have SCARY awesome stats on a werkly basis. Something to work on

1. They have been favourites of mine for a decade but the bell has tolled for O'Keefe and now LRT, we need more speed and possessions

2. As hard as he tries I couldn't see Derickx getting a game for many/any other teams, so why are we playing him? Go Nankervis

3. Welcome back Hanners, does your BOG game mean you now don't want a transfer at seasons end, thereby squashing the rumour?

1. Nice to watch a game without much stress. We didn't play particularly well but were always in control.
2. Whilst we aren't having a great season they are some things that making me feel positive about the next few years - Rampe, Parker, Smith, etc
3. Over the next month we will need to make some decisions about the season. We need to do whatever is needed to win flags - and if it seems certain we can't win one this season we need to focus on next whilst still ensuring we make finals to give younger guys experience. Therefore we will need to decide if guys like Shaw & LRT will help us win a flag next year. If not, I think we need to look at who can - with the 12 months experience we can give them. I hate older players being dropped but if we decide we are targeting next years flag then those guys being in the side may already be hurting our chances unfortunately.

1. The Swans game plan is quite simple... We must have more of our players winning the 50/50 contests than that of our opposition. We must use the footballer better than our opposition. We must kick a bigger score than our opposition. ie) Contested football, be harder & for longer than the opposition & put on scoreboard pressure through run & carry & defensive efforts.
2. Against GWS, Pies & Roos, we failed in regards Point 1 & it cost us games. Against Crows, Dockers & Demons, we did these things & won.
3. I cannot see all of our forwards playing together & getting form, as every time it looks to come to fruition, someone is always injured.

1. I actually think Derrickx is OK as #2 ruck, but if Pyke goes down, we are in kneedeep in doodoo.

2. Watching on the telly, three or four times I saw boundary throw-ins that I could have sworn were two or three metres to the favour of Melbourne's direction of play.

Tell me I'm paranoid. Make snide, tiresome comments about tinfoil hats. If anyone is watching the game again on tape (if anyone could be buggered; hardly the most riveting spectacle) please keep my observation in mind and then tell me I'm nuts.

3. I had the misfortune to have a look at the Game Day thread on the main board.

Jesus H. Christ there are some small-minded waynkars on BF. Barely a Swans or Demons fan in sight. Just a whole bunch of snide outside supporters queuing up to make barely witty observations about Paul Roos, CoLA, Buddy, Australian of the Year. Hopefully the whole thread has been humanely put down. Don't dare look unless you want to feel quite soiled.

1. Roosy has studied how we lost this year and was trying to do the same. This involves complete defence. This works because our forward line is complete rubbish. If it was raining we could have lost.

2. Review the games played before ours!! or at least tell the players (highlights) that the Umps are on there period. Any forward could have had a night out if he was told before hand that if they even touched him around the ruck or when leading it was an automatic free.

3. Please move Franklin Up the field, its no longer funny that the coach doesn't know what he has been given.

Franklin has been hampered by a bad knee and no Goodes or Tippett in the side to sit in the square. Longmire has been forced to play him deep for those reasons.

C'mon we are a far better team than 9th place. I have confidence we will finish higher than 9th.

Totally agree. The ladder is about as bunched after round 6 as I can remember in years. Half the top four spots still appear to be up for grabs at this stage as all teams struggle to dominate week in week out.

If we find consistency we can compete with most sides in the comp.

1.How did Goodes carry the team? he had 5 touches
2. 1 game outside the top 4
3. Hopefully this changes when he have the big 4 in the side as planned.

Tuco,

It looks like it will take until the home turn (Round 12) until the teams start to position themselves for the run to the finals finish line.

I am just hoping like hell, that we still have fit forwards as with Reid (Achilles), Goodes (knee), Tippett (knee & back) & now Franklin (knee) already having limited or no senior action, anymore injuries could come back & hurt our run especially with LRT not touching the ball recently & neither Pyke nor Derickx kicking a lot of goals.

We need someone to stand up & make the forward line theirs till all the forward line come together & gel.

I suspect that some of the teams will be found out soon as they will start to play the top teams.

Here, Here! Goodesy could easily play another 3 years as a sub if fitness allows.

I believe he has already decided this will be his last year.

3. Welcome back Hanners, does your BOG game mean you now don't want a transfer at seasons end, thereby squashing the rumour?

There was no 'rumour', it was made up nonsense which is completely untrue.

1. we still look a bit off the pace compared to 2012, getting there but not quite. so many changes the team is still gelling.
2. rampe slotting in well again this year
3. forward line looks a bit all over the place, wonder if we'll see the real sydney swans this year

1. Chunky we need to evolve from 2012 we wont ever go back to "2012" completely different personnel(8-9 changes?) different coaching personnel. completely different forward line and a changing of the guard in the back 6 as Shaw probably wont last the season and be replaced by Biggs.

This all takes time to gel and come together.
