Foley was sucking in air pretty hard in the third on the wing near me, but his pace didn't drop massively which was good

On Thomas in the final, most were rooted by then. Losing Jacko early clearly hurt our rotations, and you could see the pace wasn't there except in bursts.

Just on foley I mean his best pace isn't what it was.

Im a massive Foley fan (mates and I sponsored him for a few years), but I thought the legs were gone, and I wouldn't have played him. He surprised me though, not with his performance, but with the bursts he showed

Just assume I want Grigg and Houli out every week. Having said that Grigg was barely sighted today.

grigg put their skipper out of business and also kicked a sausage and was an unselfish team player today, great game. if sum couldn't see that they never will.

Amazing how much more of an asset Hampson is when our midfielders look to get on the end of his taps rather than being caught on the back foot. Also helped with his confidence around the ground.

Good win but an average West Coast outfit also beat GWS by 111 points just last week.

Its one thing I hate about our game, for some stuff you see better live, for some better on the box.

FWIW I was on the boundary at the wing, so we saw a few decent close up efforts from Foley on the wing

BTW my first time at Showgrounds, and have to say I liked it. Deck looks good, facilities and simple and functional, and some pretty good food options (jokes aside, the kebabs looked good!)

Also kudos to the Sydney Tiggers on a decent pregame. Good to have a brew and a chat with a few of the locals up here.

HOWEVER, one gripe.

Final quarter, on the boundary, and a bunch of kids (6 odd 8 year olds) we standing on the boundary, whacking their thunder sticks and cheering the GWS. Thought "poor buggers", but was pleased to see some passion from kids to a side that was getting flogged. Then some security nazi comes and tells them all to sit down.

Me and the guy behind us said "WTF? They are going nothing, why they have to sit?" Apparently some douche a few rows back made an official complaint that the kids were standing.

For ****s sake!!!!

They were eight, and the stand has a gradient, so they weren't blocking anyones view. That means they got upset for them making some noise, which is just bloody sad. If this game is gunna work up here, we want 10k kids down on that boundary line screaming their lungs out come rain or shine. To crack the shits because they made noise is just lame. Get behind your ****ing team and cheer with them!!!

My post had nothing to do with the margin, it had to do with waiting until the season is done and then going out and smacking a cellar dweller just to get people thinking all is good again. Fact of the matter it isn't until we play like this week after week.

Despite what some may think I am wrapt with the way we played.

I tipped GWS but sure as hell didn't punt on them.

We did well but I haven't forgiven the players or coaches yet but they can only beat who is in front of them.
I won't even call them flat track bullies.

I will however give credit where it is due. Chaplin, Hampson, Houli, Vickery and Grigg played well, did their roles.
The question is, can they back it up? I hope so.
