Autopsy Round 10 vs GWS plus changes for Essendon

Some terrific signs today. Lesser lights and whipping boys stood up (hampson, grigg, Thomas). Two things I liked the most were how united the boys looked - lots of support for each other - and loved how jack passed off to cotch in the last quarter when he had every right to go for glory. Great game jack.

I've been critical of Chaplin this year (who hasn't?), but think he needs some acknowledgement today. Played much better. Cracked in.

Matt Thomas actually played like he warranted selection, didn't sell out his team and kicked well.
That he did and if he performs like that every week he maintains his spot because the simple truth is that there isn't really anyone outside Miles who is deserving of being played ahead of him at VFL level. That is kind of an indictment on the younger players that despite the opportunity being there for some of them to step and stake a claim for the senior side none of them really have.

Honestly I don't think there's many on the list that could pull out the performance Thomas did today. Maybe Jackson, Conca and Miles only.

back to what we saw him doing at the start of the year. be interesting to see how he backs it up against the dons

Reckon Helbig and Arnot could be capable of it but neither have really stepped up to the level that should be expected of players in their 4th year in system.

I was totally over the Tigers after last weekends effort, so I decided to organise a weekend at the farmers market with the family. Didn't check scores all day.
Lots of browny points with the wife and kids.
So I thought I would see how bad our defeat was when I got home. Lets just say I am pleasantly surprised.
I've set myself with a bottle of red and some snacks and will post a review and votes later.
I don't think I need to watch the game to give BOG.
Go Tigers.

how nice of you
what about some credit for matty thomas ?? he was ok wasnt he ?? most tackles, most clearances, efficientcy at 85% naaa your right he was crap ;)

Where did I say he was crap?

The players mentioned have been terrible of late and have rightly deserved a bagging. Playing well they deserve credit. Is that too complicated for you?

Before you get too excited flower sniffer, we were playing GWS, and they didn't come to play.

Blues, Suns, Pies and the Dogs?

Great signs shown by the players today. Sitting in the crowd, it was fantastic to see the work and determination that the lads had behind the ball. Great to witness my man Jack slot through 11.2. Dusty reminded us today just how high his ceiling actually is, prestigious talent, great that weve held onto him.

Don't forget we played gws.

Still reckon it was a team we put on the park with some players no upside. Eg Thomas racking it up now but what about against the good teams? Would have been good to see miles have a go today.

Anyways we needed the win. Just saying we took the short term route with our team. I reckon rfc knew the meltdown would come harder than a tsnami if we lost.
Oh Please. The team we put out there was to win the game. Thomas had a good game. Talk about back peddling. Criticism where it is due absolutely but that goes for credit when it is due as well.

Once again hit the mark in the first round, Lennon is a gun.
I know we said the same thing early about Vlastuin but Lennon looks like a 50-100 game player, not a 2 game player.

best thing about matt thomas today, his kick to handball ratio. 21 handballs 7 kicks, this is what he should be doing every week. play to his limitations and get the ball in the hands of better users

and got rid of it quicker instead of holding onto it!

BTW my first time at Showgrounds, and have to say I liked it. Deck looks good, facilities and simple and functional, and some pretty good food options (jokes aside, the kebabs looked good!)

Also kudos to the Sydney Tiggers on a decent pregame. Good to have a brew and a chat with a few of the locals up here.

HOWEVER, one gripe.

Final quarter, on the boundary, and a bunch of kids (6 odd 8 year olds) we standing on the boundary, whacking their thunder sticks and cheering the GWS. Thought "poor buggers", but was pleased to see some passion from kids to a side that was getting flogged. Then some security nazi comes and tells them all to sit down.

Me and the guy behind us said "WTF? They are going nothing, why they have to sit?" Apparently some douche a few rows back made an official complaint that the kids were standing.

For ****s sake!!!!

They were eight, and the stand has a gradient, so they weren't blocking anyones view. That means they got upset for them making some noise, which is just bloody sad. If this game is gunna work up here, we want 10k kids down on that boundary line screaming their lungs out come rain or shine. To crack the shits because they made noise is just lame. Get behind your ******* team and cheer with them!!!
The old replace yourself with some "8 year olds" in the story. There there you can clap your thunder sticks at home. :p

How'd you enjoy getting to see a game live again?

To those thinking the boys dont play for the coach, well you got your answer. Lets not undersell the win. GWS had there oldest and most experienced side out on the green today. We have been hammered from pillar to post with Slobbo mentioning Carnage if we lose. We have had foamers posting and ringing radio stations burning the coach and club. We have had been reduced to a joke of a club this week by those thinking we are like the tigers of old...well we are not. We weathered the storm, we remained calm, we kept the faith and we produced.

Keep in mind, if we had of kicked straight we would have a completely different win loss ratio and thats while using this " OMG SHIT BURN THE CLUB !!11" game plan.

Bring on the peptides. if we beat those ****ers, it will go a long way to make us hunt Norf instead of them hunting us.
