Abbott has come under fire for not committing to meetings with the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, and the World Bank president, Jim Yong Kim, when he moves on to America, but has confirmed he is hoping to meet with Murdoch while in New York subject to their schedules.

“As I said, the program is not entirely finalised but I hope I do, because he is a very distinguished Australian and the last time I was in New York certainly I did meet with him,” Abbott said.
Want to thank him for his continued support I suppose. I thought Murdoch has American citizenship?
I think you underestimate the depth of the relationship between the puppet and the puppeteer Maggie. :)

Good grief and people complain about how Abbot is being portrayed? What an utterly embarrassing fool he is.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has given a strong indication that profit-shifting by large multinational companies will form a key part of the G20 Summit when it comes to Australia later this year.

As Mr Abbott's tour of the United States continued, he said there was a pressing need for " strong global financial governance" before taking a thinly-veiled swipe at US companies such as Apple and Google, who have come under scrutiny in recent months because of their profit-shifting mechanisms.

"We need global tax rules to ensure that businesses pay tax in the countries where they earn revenue," Mr Abbott said in an address to an American Australian Association luncheon in New York.

His had some notable stuff ups but I actually think he speaks good.
Articulates himself well when the topic is in his element, speaks knowledgeable on a decent range of of issues and conducts himself professionally.
Has even shown mastery in the art of double speak. (Premier o'farrell speech)

Deserves some extra points for performing under difficult circumstances as well because the guy is a creep with hard right nutty views, he would have to continually monitor his thoughts and be careful not to let any of it seep out.

Any lip readers on BF? Would love to know what Abbott was saying to Obama at the end of their meeting. It looked to me like he was grovelling, 'hey buddy didn't really mean what I have been saying to the press, you know politics', Obama replies putting his hand on Abbott's arms replies, ' don't worry about it, I know you are an idiot',

That is a lie and will not happen

Palmer's senators should be made to abstain , conflict of Interest

Palmer will benefit from it as well as the other rich polluters

It doesn't work that way. none of the PUP's Senators elect have shareholdings in Palmer's companies, Palmer is in the HOR. No conflict of interest for those senators.

Abbott wanted to abolish the Carbon Tax and now he will honor his election promise.

Actually they are representing Palmer in the senate, the Palmer party is funded by palmer

So the party as a whole has a conflict of interest

Some recent suppository's of wisdom and double speak from the great one

"no cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the GST and no cuts to the ABC or SBS

"I regard myself as a conservationist.''

" The forest industry are the ultimate conservationists”

Abbott press conference after Barry O'ffarrell quits politics after being caught telling lies to ICAC

"This is an honour and an integrity at a very high level. We are seeing an act of integrity, an act of honor, the like of which we have rarely seen in Australian politics."
