The AFL website has produced this 'effort'. Surely Dangerfield and Watson have been picked on reputation. If any other player were having the year they are they'd be nowhere near it. And excuse my bias but surely they could have fit at least one more Port player in, I mean we are top of the ladder and two games clear yet they could only fit in Robbie Gray, on the bench mind you, yet found room in the forward line for CHRIS YARRAN!!

How about you actually read it before you criticise. It's not based on opinion or reputation at all, merely on average Champion score.

It clearly says they have been picked based on champion data points. Try reading before you throw a fit.

He is, 16.8 to Yarran's 13.8. But they probably pick based on position they've set for certain players.

Also these aren't super coach points, but the AFL's own ranking points

How so? It's actually a relatively decent side for the most part. Gray is averaging more than Yarran but as they're clearing picking by position, he wasn't considered for a forward spot.

We haven't seen a team get anywhere near 5-7 AA players in the team since Geelong, and you are a still a way off that. You (Port fans) need to be more realistic, in my opinion

As far as statistical measurements go, it's probably the best one for measuring overall impact, as the final number is largely based upon weightings afforded to impact and contribution to winning, rather than just a tally of raw stats.

Champion Data rate Brent Harvey as the best kick in the game and he's getting it 26 times per game, mostly in the forward half. If he was 21 he'd be in every single team.

Definitely deserves a spot on the HFF, but competition is tight because there's been so many quality smalls forwards and other goalkicking mids.

I'm happy with Gray in there. Not copping Breust, Wingard or Elliott.

Breust certainly deserves the token small forward role, apart from his last two games he's been immense for a small forward. Not saying he takes Harveys place, but yeah you never know with the selectors

I'd also have him over Wingard and Elliot right now.

More realistic? so you are telling me you don't think Gray, Wingard, Carlile, Boak and Schulz (not even to mention Polec) all don't deserve to be in contentions or debated about after the years that they have had so far. You are the one that needs to be more realistic. They have all had great years and we know they all wont make it but they deserve to be mentioned in a thread that is based around predictions.

Boak and Polec are competing for midfield spots where players of the ilk of Ablett and Pendlebury are fighting it out at the moment. The midfield is always the most competitive in an AA side. Schulz, really? I know that you love your club but even you suggest they won't make it anyway - so why bring it up?

Polec won't make it. Wingard and Schulz need to improve to even enter the discussion. Boak would only be selected in the squad and is in a bunch of players in contention for the bench as of now. Carlile in or out will probably be judged on todays game.

Yeah i know that, I personally think our only AA will be Gray and Wingard but I am saying that having a go and being annoyed at port fans for suggesting that those players (boak, schulz etc) may be in contentions and placing those players in their predicted AA team is just stupid, as those players at this stage would be in consideration if it was done right now.
