I watched every minute of the game yesterday and whilst Port were resilient, I thought the scoreboard flattered them

Port won nearly all key stats, many handsomely such as contested possession, clearances and inside 50s. The scoreboard flattered Sydney if anyone.

Out of left field.....But the kangaroo's have to stand some chance....should win 8 of their next, with a couple that they have a good chance in :) Nothing like coming home with a wet sail. Not the prettiest side in there, but can grab a top 4 finish if a few other games go their way. They are a team that can do the unexpected in a final.

Really? North have looked big average on a few occasions this year.

I agree they are up and down...but they have beaten Port, Sydney and Freo....
They need to win a recent final before they will be a chance. No recent side has ever come from the clouds without having some winning final experience in their side. They need to win a final or two this year and have a serious crack next year. All the top six teams have form in that area.

Ask the Hawks what stats meant in the 2012 GF. Jack. We know you are good but the need for recognition after that game on Saturday is sickening. The better side won on the day especially considering they kicked 2.9 in the first qtr and kept you in it. Should have been over. Get over it.

This is out of left field and 3 fields over. North can most certainly win a final. But 3. Very very unlikely. Our great is delicious. Our worst is despicable. Our downfall is we are capable of playing either in equal measure.

Sydney 'kicked' 2.4 in the first qtr and 4 points were rushed. Sorry to intrude with the facts.

The facts are the Better Team ON THE DAY won. Making excuses or underlining stats is not going to get back the 4 points, its over. You will get another shot at it but good luck holding Franklin & Tippett down at the same time in your quest for recognition & your day in the sun.

Thanks for that. Not that we needed reminding about the presence of the COLA kids, Tippett and Franklin.

If Hawthorn do manage to make the top 4 in a year where resting players won't be a luxury due to evenness in the competition these injuries might be a blessing in disguise. granted it is a big IF, to make the top 4. I would love the fact that our senior guys who are normally rested have had 4+ weeks off throughout the year. Also looking at Roughy, Hodgey and Cyril who have all had weeks off at different stages. I can't see teams risking resting players in the later stages of the year, because the 4 points this year appear to me more valuable as 6 are trying to squeeze into 4. I'm quietly confident if Hawthorn do manage to make the top 4 they will get to the big dance, and from there its anyones game.

If we can somehow get a home final in week 1. We will be tough to beat. Still very unlikely though at this stage given our hard draw.
