Ok guys this isn't the bay so lets not waste our time trolling the blues. This is a serious question re how deep the blues should cut their list to rebuild this season.

Obviously we can't have another power house of the comp linger in the wasteland for a few decades like Richmond have so the blues have to rebuild. Should the be cutting everyone over 25 except out and out stars like Judd? Should they be turning over young KPPs who have shown a little but not a lot such as Watson?

Would you trade someone like Gibbs or Murphy who have currency?

Warnock? ect ect.

Anyhow without being a bunch of trolls what would you do with their list?

Delist Lucas, Temay, McInnes, Cachia and most of their rookies.

I look @ the saints last year being brave and trading out Dal to get quality kids on the list via the trade period. The problem is for the blues, we dont have any one like that- we didnt have any high draft pick back then and got stuck with guys like carrazzo. There is no quality in out +27's. (Judd aside)
The other problem I see is 1. we havent developed the picks we have had recently Ie. Lucas, Watson etc and we squandered other pick for guys like Warnock and Mclean.

I guess this means we will have to go via the draft and get kids and start a full rebuild from this year. We do not ahve many players with any trade value.
I would look at trading simpson- Im not a massive fan but someone may take him. I dont beleive any of our other over 27's have any trade value.
Delist Mclean Carrazzo, try to get anything for walker & Warnock. And load up on the draft imo.
Only un-tradeables would be Murphy, Gibbs & Henderson & Judd (Not sure anyone would take him)

You'd hang on to Judd (for leadership more than playing ability), Murphy, Gibbs, Yarran, Henderson, Kruezer.
You'd try get something for Walker, Warnock and Lucas (maybe Garlett too)

Realistically you could put the names of 34 others into a hat and draw out the 10 you are going to delist.

Edit: and you'd keep anyone you'd drafted in last 2 years...

Take that shit to the bay.. 6 AFL standard players? If that were the case they'd lose every game by 100 points. Carlton are a bottom four team most likely, and ideally would replace about 10-11 players in their starting 22

Deficiencies all across the park, but the biggest problem imo is their one paced midfield. Delist Carrazzo, McLean, Curnow. Robinson probably stays only for his kamikaze attack on the footy compared to the others. Maybe develop Yarran and Walker into pacy midfielders? Bell has potential as a good inside mid from what I've seen of him. Jamison FB Henderson CHB ok, but then you have Armfield/Tuohy who are very hit and miss, Rowe and Watson ordinary but could do with more game time. Menzel is blue chip, Casboult has shown signs at CHF. In the off season the priorities for mine would be a quick elite inside mid, and a 50 goal+ FF.

If he goes for FA then that is a disaster, if you can trade him to Adelaide for first round pick then you'll have two top 10 picks judging on the way both clubs are tracking this year.

Some clubs will have an interest in Warnock. I'd hang on to Kruezer because if he gets his body right his workrate around the ground makes him a better option in the middle.

You've got to be realistic. You can't replace 10 players through the draft and the last thing we need is to pick up opposition rejects.

We can't afford to get rid of talls. Our depth in that department is abysmal. Watson stays. Waite on a massively reduced contract or onto the rookie list. Warnock stays as back up for Kreuzer.

We've already lost Bootsma and Duigan of the senior list. Much as it hurts, Lucas looks gone. One or both of McLean and Carrazzo. If one stays, again on a severely reduced contract.

I have been a massive fan of Robbies on this board and with mates our of BF, When he dominates the ruck(hitouts) he is super influential. But recently he isnt doing that. He is 206cm, cant take a mark. He cant find the footy around the ground (worse than NicNat).
He got dicked by Seglar last week and mummy was close to BoG today. I also recall him struggling agaisnt Melbournes ruck earlier in the year.

He offers exactly NOTHING around the ground. Ziltch, zip, nada. He is a liability. He can from time to time, win some nice taps, but not nearly enough to justify his bloated wage, or a position on any starting 22 in the AFL.

Mitch Robinson would be better as the ruckman and he's only 185cm. At least he has a heart and provides a contest.
