A very interesting conversation between the two this morning talking North.

When asked about how can a team beat top 4 sides but lose to bottom teams his initial reply was interesting. He said under Laids they would have been told to bring the mouthguards for a bit of rock n roll. So Kings asked what does Scott do he replied that Brad is different and is more subdued and seethes more internally. I might add that he ummed and arred at the start when talking about Scotts.

Then the conversation turned to how individually they took the loss and Grima said that there are players who are emotionally invested in the club who take losses hard while others don't and can distance themselves from it.

I wonder how many Hawks, Dockers, Swans and Cats players in each squad don't feel a loss or the pressure associated with it?

Get real, get tough Scotts, this is a business yet you treat it like some education centre. Get ruthless FFS.

Not the first time player's having mentioned Brad as never coming down on them.

Thing is he comes across as someone that would go nuts...maybe he has that presence of intimidation?

Gen Y don't like being yelled at...maybe that's it?

I remember in Rd 1 v * Gibbo kicked the ball into the corridor and * kicked a goal...it sucked whatever momentum we had ...I followed Gibbo back to his position...runner didnt appear...nothing.

Maybe I am old school, but I do know the Angry Budgie wouldn't have tolerated it.

I apologize to who said it as the name slips my memory but someone did a great post about this gen Y myth and related it to Scott.

Clarkson, Malthouse (at pies), Buckley, Lyon, Hinkley all seem to use fairly standard means of showing their intolerance for bad habits and none of their gen Y petals seem to wilt and refuse to perform.

A coach probably can't personally humiliate a player or collar them like they once did but I think guys like Levi or Luke look completely capable of handling a bake. If their less committed teammates can't then it's not a generational thing at play.

Brad Scott reminds me of a parent who threatens to smack their child, but never will and eventually the kid will be aware of if and begin to push the boundaries.
In Scott's case it is to do with team selection, the threats he has made to other players about losing their spot in the side, but time after time delivering stinkers, believing no matter what their spot is safe.
Brad needs to get hard on some of these players and if they don't perform they piss off to the VFL.
And on the players, this is their job and all we ask is that they turn up for 2 hours a week 22 times a year. It's not that hard.

so essentially:

Zondor 's execute one to educate many.

Well see on Thursday i guess.

Out: Warren
In: Hansen

Brad hasnt got the balls to make the necessary calls

so he said on Monday 2 players already out and you think he's only going to drop 1.

There is a whole bunch of throwing the baby out with the bathwater going on in here this week.

He has more backbone than some are saying.

I know it was a while ago but when Arch retired he made some comments about how the young lads at the time didn't seem as desperate about playing and hating losing as much as he did. Mind you Arch was a maniac and we haven't seen another Shinboner like him since he retired.

Ok then,

Out: Warren, Brown
In: Hansen, Wood

Anymore poor games from Basti and Adams and they have to go. McKenzie and Black on very thin ice.

Cough.. Mc Donald, cough, cough

Having thought about this, if players aren't effected by a loss then they shouldn't have a place at the club. If they are able to seperate themselves from a loss and be unaffected by it... How the f*** are we supposed to win a flag with that kind of mindset, seriously.
