It's a mindset they have, not a type.

Start looking through our best 22 for next year and see how many are shirkers. Even Gibbs has found an edge.

Yarran is probably the least physical in our best side now and he still tackles, harasses and applies himself. He is our Shaun Burgoyne. Our players will grow and they will be physical.
Gibbs took a big step to growing a pair when he nailed Heppell right on the siren a couple of years back. Realised that it doesnt always hurt to smash your opposition.

Yup. We're offering two premiership cups......

hehehehe i'm sure GWS will want something from this century...in all seriousness though

you think a 2nd rounder will be enough to get it done or is there talk you'd be forced to part with the first rounder?

is there any word on what you'd be prepared to part with for Jaksch?

Second round and knives, I think we are waiting to see what our Waite compensation is first as well. Don't think it will be Garlet as knives but who knows. It sounded like a done deal for just our second round pick, then St Kilda jumped in with a better cash offer.

Hopefully it gets done early in the draft period so we can focus on other stuff. Will be happy to get Jones for our third/Waite compo (as long as it's not a second), worth a punt. Worst case scenario it provides pressure for our forward line slots and our NB midfielders get something to kick to. Hendo + Casbolt have good workrates, so hopefully that rubs off on him.

Bulldogs fan on their board Jeffy and Robbo for Liam Jones is a fair trade. If they threw in the Bont as a sweetner, I'd consider it then :)

Dogs fans don't understand they have no power in this - they left him in the VFL, he's out of contract & he's nominated us outright. Even if they make him go to the PSD - who drafts a player who says he only wants to play for one team? It's not like they're going to redraft him and force him to stay.

1 unwanted and proven lazy player for 1 unwanted and proven lazy player & 1 hard nut with bad discipline. Sounds like a lose-lose

I'd do Jeffy for Jones, it's a trade that neither club would be entirely happy with and could go both ways. Jeffy is gone, I think we'd struggle to get more than a third rounder for him anyway and Jones is worth at least a third rounder.

Obviously depends on the interest other clubs have in Jeff though.

No. He is a pick 12 who hasn't done anything yet
Don't think GWS will be interested in just a second rounder.

However if they end up getting pick 16 from North for O'Rourke I wonder... considering we're stocking up on picks this year... if we can prize a few second rounders out for our first?

Considering the draft is even and they have no need for more picks in the 20s.

Pick 6 for Pick 16, 20 and 23?

Enter the draft with picks 16, 20, 23, 27 and 28 (Waites rumoured compo).

He's a promising tall that plays both ends of the ground who was behind Cameron, Boyd, Patton at GWS.

Where is your cynicism coming from?
7 games in 2 years doesn't make a pick 12 from that draft become a pick 7. I get he is still developing but can't see why he is suddenly worth more than what was used to get him originally. Especially when he wants to come home

Then you've read it wrong. We would only give a first rounder if another player was added or with an exchange of picks.

2 games in 2 years isn't uncommon for a developing tall that is being shielded from huge losses every week at an expansion club

Does anyone think with Jaksch and O'Rourke wanting to go back to Melbourne, especially considering O'Rourke was a #2 pick, they are both pathing the way to make it a little bit easier for Boyd to walk out next year and come to us? It is one thing to walk out as a #1 draft pick and go to another club and the media around it would be hyped, but when the precedent has been set the year prior with a pick #12 and pick #2 leaving, the focus won't be so much on Boyd but moreso why GWS can't hold onto the talent which mentally will make it a little easier for Boyd to walk.

Of course on the other hand he will be more of a focus now over at GWS because of Patton doing his ACL again, but still, if I were Boyd I would be worried about the waves I would be creating by leaving and I think those waves would not be so large with Jaksch and O'Rourke walking out this year to return back to Melbourne.

Pick 16 and Jaksch to Carlton for Pick 7

We lose 7. Gain 16 and Jaksch. Above is what was posted.
