No. He is a pick 12 who hasn't done anything yet
Carlton lose #7. Gain O'Rourke, Jaksch. = get your head out of the clouds. All we swap is pick 7 for the former pick 2 and pick 12, when players already in the system are worth more than an early/mid pick

On the one hand pick 7 for pick 16 and Jaksch isn't worth it yet pick 7 for O'Rourke and Jaksch is head in the cloud stuff?

Bipolar much?

Carlton fans, you are in our thoughts....

Liam Jones :drunk:

Maybe you said the same about Everitt last year.

Not expecting the world but Jones would have been told what he's in for. He could have said no.
From what I know, he's a pretty good character and blends in well with team-mates.........and he's cheap and he fills a need. Why not?

I'm hesitant to believe that. They were saying a few days back no one wanted Robbo and we know that's not the case.

I really think it's more a case of us making it clear that they were not to be resigned. Why trade when you can pick a player with limited interest up for nothing in the PSD or, at worst, offer your last draft pick?

Some believe that this is a proactive move by us but I think it's borderline lunacy to telegraph your intentions like that.

The other issue, for me, is that we also have Lucas on the trade table but our reluctance to play him even with our injury problems deems him next to worthless, i just can't work that out.

Before you sell your house you paint over the cracks I just can't fathom why we don't give ourselves some chance to maximise our return, it wasn't as if we were playing for a spot in the finals.

I would think just a draft pick. Can't see us wanting Robbo or Lucas, we might have an interest in Garlett though.

As much as we all want a second rounder, your third rounder would probably be enough to get it done.

Would honestly prefer to keep the players and offer up our 3rd rd selection for Jones. I have not given up hope on Lucas turning it around (I know, I am a glutton for punishment) and Garlett is worth A LOT more than Jones (if we can get his head straight again). Would hope Robbo could get us a 2nd rd selection.

Think a 3rd rd pick is about right for Jones.

Do you guys have anything we can use to help him run harder/faster for longer or to toughen him up ??
Yes we do have the best facilities in the league, but you will have to pay serious money to use them.

Nah I actually rated Everitt. Plenty to work with and can play a variety of positions.

o'rourke is said to be injury prone and despite being a high pick himself has shown about as much as jaksch (ie not a lot). can't say i'm all that keen on him myself, not even as part of a first round 2fer. i can see him kicking around on the list for a couple of years before we get much out of him. not the worst scenario for a high pick, but unlike the docherty/everitt trades he's not going to slot straight in which i thought was one of the new mantras of our current recruiters - the ability to come into the side straight away. would probably be gifted games early on like jaksch, but we need the height.

Looking at the picture of O'Rourke on the afl website he looks like he is a gym avoider. PASS.

Goodbye!!!

What can we actually get for Garlett that is worth it. If we cant get a trade will we keep him?

we don't know when that was taken, but his player stats where you find them (not sure about the dates on these either) generally have him under 80kg for 188cm. he's still going to need some time, hence kicking around in our seconds. he's not an ollie wines or an o'meara. first round is pretty steep for an injury prone project midfielder with 2 years under his belt for nix. i like kane lucas and i'm hoping for improvement from him, but he's already here.

Matty Watto's manager - Waite leaving helps him. Young kid drafted & had to do a lot of maturing. 2nd half of this year he really came on as a forward. Broke into senior team as forward is positive for Matty. Looking forward to big preseason @ Carlton.
