And Eddie, Pert, Eade, Hine, Harvey, rest of coaches, person at the front desk, barista(glorified coffee maker) and while we're at it, a retrospective sacking of Walsh.Let me guess....sack Bucks?
Father lives in QueenslandIf it's so important for Beams father to see the Brothers play together, why isn't Claye requesting a trade to the Pies?

Have to wonder if a condition of Dayne's offered contract is that his brother gets picked every week!Father lives in Queensland
I have no idea how that relates to my post to be honest.Let me guess....sack Bucks?
When are supporters going to admit to the true value of Sidebottom? He is a 2 sided player and far more reliable with his disposal by foot than the majority of players on our list.

Ha, I don't think I've seen that come up anywhere. I'd be interested to know. Not that it would make any difference, but interested all the same.Maybe Beams' dad barracks for Brisbane.
I'll take a wild guess and say it's because you've tried to turn almost every thread on this board into a 'how great were the good old days/our previous players were all guns/Buckley is no good'.I have no idea how that relates to my post to be honest.
Clayton is playing this smart. He knows that the Brions desperately want Beams. By expressing his interest, but saying they are going to sit back and let the Lions deal go through, he eases the pressure on the Lions to offer up a big trade.Scott Clayton (Suns recruiter) on trade radio this morning. Says, he's spoken to Beams' manager, not Beams. Says it appear he wants Brisbane so it's a deal between them & Collingwood, but we'll moniter that one. Admits to chasing Mitch Hallahan (big bodied mid from Hawthorn VFL) and has discussed Robinson from carlton (big bodied dud mid). He's loking for a big bodied mid. Beams big bodied gun mid.
On the flip side when asked about being able to afford both Malceski & Beams in salary terms, he said "it'd be difficult". That said, if their trade offer was superior, we'd offer to pay some salary to clinch the deal.
In no way, are the Suns out of the race for Beams. Back to you Brisbane.
Wow. That's drawing a fairly long bow I reckon. It's pretty clear all GC are doing is making it known that they will look at Beams if it all falls flat. It's a fairly far bridge to think it's some kind of sneaky plot. What's more, it won't happen.Clayton is playing this smart. He knows that the Brions desperately want Beams. If the Lions then, in their smugness, offer a trade that just pisses off Hine and co, he can step in and offer up something juicy.
End result, pies are pissed off and don't want to deal with Brisbane anymore and endeavor to get a deal done with GC, even if it means paying some of his contract.
It's exactly the way I'd play it, and gives the Suns the highest chance of actually snaring Beams imo.
Reckon if I was a mod I'd be a lonely one!Wish I was a mod. Would be handing out more cards then a ref at the World Cup.
Come on mate- that post doesn't suit the pessimistic narrative.Or because Dad lives in QLD and doesn't want to move to Melbourne.
It's not really a long bow at all. Clayton would know the chances of Dayne ending up a Sun are slim. Going in all guns blazing would be great from our perspective, as it would drive up Daynes trade value, but it's a lousy strategy from a negotiators point of view.Wow. You may be right but that's a long way off the way I'm reading it. Who knows? It's not really a long bow at all. Clayton would know the chances of Dayne ending up a Sun are slim. This way Clayton is publicly showing his interest to the pies, but not being dragged into a bidding war. If Brisbane f$&k up, then it's time to pounce.
It may not work, particularly if the Brions come up with a fair trade, but given that Beams has nominated the Lions, this is really the smartest way for GC to go about this without having to sacrifice ridiculous currency at the trade table if it comes to the point where the pies/lions negotiations reach breaking point.
So Frawley has joined the Hawks.
If the reported offers were true, 450k for 4 years, is that band 2 compensation?
Unfortunately he won't be able to gel with the majority of our team then. Either that or within a year or two in our system, he will be spraying them all over the place.Apparently O'Rourke can kick, a unique trait which would make him instantly our best player.

From the AFL Draft, Trade, Free Agency, List & General News Facebook Page.Dayne Beams has declined an invitation to attend Collingwood's Copeland Trophy this evening, despite in the running to take home his second club best and fairest.
Travis Cloke described it as
"very disappointing, he's still a Collingwood player and he's contracted for next year, we understand his position, but as his mates and teammates we wish he was here to see off the season."
Watch caro and robbo feast on this tomorrow.Beams had refused to attend the Copeland.
Clearly there is some bad blood there.
Let's drop the sick father excuse now.
