Smaller program, smaller average fields. No GT, just some of the weaker classes. Processional racing for most of the day. 3 Shannons meets in Victoria so far, and all of them haven't been that good.

So waaaayyyy earlier in the year, I made the trek from Melbourne to Taree to see the Troy Bayliss Classic flat track event. It was a monster 1 day event with about 90 races in total which included sidecars, quad bikes, juniors, vintage and Bayliss handpicked allstars and legends including riders from road, off-road, motorcross, enduro and speedway. It was a ripper day and i got thoroughly sunburnt.
Any win against Bayliss is worth celebrating!

Riders wore all sorts of gear including mx and speedway garb but I reckon I'd prefer leathers.

Forgot to mention there was a womens class and they went hard!
The venue really was just a little local track but with all sorts of makeshift "stands" they managed to fit around 5000 people in. Traffic was a bugger though.

Thread not being bumped reminded me of going to Sandown last week for the state round. It would be the same photos as before. So I'm only putting this up because it's a better paint job on a Ferrari than the red.

Cruised up to Yas Island yesterday just to have a quick look around. Looks like it would be an amazing place to have a GP. In every aspect other than the actual farking motorsport.
