Not sure I totally agree with this bit...

Jenkins sacrificed some contested marks as deliberate tap downs to a forwards advatage.

...in that I don't know if the number of times this actually happenned is significant enough to make note of it. But this bit...

I read this as a defined role Sando wanted JPod and JJ to play. We'll need to see if this is still the case with Walsh in charge.

...is relevant. Walsh brings with him an entirely different perspective on the game, I hope it results in better utilisation of our assets right across the ground.

Perhaps we need a separate "Lindy draft analysis thread".
So all the people who are " my glass isn't half empty; someone drank my water, stole my glass, and my car, and ran over my dog" can bitch and moan with like minded individuals, and the rest of us can carry on here.

Whatever wells' policy is, we need to follow it

He's the undisputed king recruiter in the league. Without doubt.

It's like trading with Warren Buffett, it matters less what he knows that you don't, just that you need to realise that he does.

I personally think Wells is more successful with his later picks than his early ones. If you look over recent years of drafts (besides our sanctioned years) we have had a lot of picks near where Geelong have had theirs and we have picked some good players and Geelong have picked poor players.

In 2010 we picked Brodie Smith at 14, next pick was Geelong and they picked Smedts. 2008 was a good and deep draft and they picked Mitch Brown who no one was even interested in touching this trade period. It's later in the draft that he shines in identifying talent and their development is top notch. But there's no reason to think that the player they pick at 10 will be infinitely better than who we pick at 14

I know wells is very good at what he does, but I think some of you are slightly underestimating nobes he has had a very good success rate in the first round of late, I have 100% in him, without looking into it wells isn't exactly Nostradamus he's had his misses wasn't Mitch brown a first rounder? I know smedts was and those two aren't lighting the world on fire.

Have faith ppl!!!

Noble hasn't even seen a first round draft pick of late

I would like to see Atkins play next season , my gut feeling is that he's going to be a 200 game player

He's got a good bit of pace and a nice left foot, so with Walsh's assertions that we need quick left footers, he should get his chance. Of the few SANFL games I saw him in, he tended to start off really well, and taper off a bit toward the end of the game, so hopefully he works his arse off to improve his tank over the summer.

I did get a bit surprised with Nobes taking an aggressive stance against cRowie during the 5AA, which really is the last person your anger should be directed at, given his biased allegiance.

I hope he lines up cockroach with the same.

Why did Nobes get a bit hostile straight away? cRowie had to almost pacify him to make him feel comfortable.

We don't suffer fools anymore.

And yet to be proven wrong. He's not just going to wake up next year and be a player like Goodes, Mcleod, Chris Lewis, Gavin Wanganeen. He's going to be up an down like a yoyo and Port fans will be as scathing of him as Bomber fans.

But by all means, carry on like they got a cross between Polly Farmer and Barrie Robran.

No one's trying to "prove" you wrong. just like no one is trying to prove the earth isn't flat, the truth about 9/11 or the moon landing :p

You're just wrong in a tiny tiny marginal wonk way.

My guess is no crow supporter will want to buy a 'Tiser tomorrow.

Geez, we're lucky the grand final isn't in October then.

Time will tell who has made the right calls.

It probably happened about the same amount as the difference 8n contested mark stat from '12 to '14.

In the contest in '12 he went for the mark. Youtube his debut game vs Geeling in '12. In '13 he was marking on the lead as he became our forward target. His role was completely different.
In '14 Pods was our contested marker. I can't find the threads right now but it was noted by posters other thsn me that he was tapping down during marking contests last year. I wasn't the only one to see it.

again with the tapping down comment. YOU ! Joshy is the best "tapper down" in the competition..

Rowie was quite vocal against our trading to begin with. Noble was defending his moves. Play on I say. Rowie was not "pro" AFCs trading at all.

Jenkins has changed has game play 2 times in 3 years. 1st as a necessity with Walker going down then as a structural change with Pods being designated pack crasher and Betts being official crumber. It was noticed not just by me that Jenkins was deliberately providing crumbs.

Rowe's first question was essentially, "Fans are disappointed, explain yourself to the 19th man?" - heavily laced with aggro from the outset so Noble replied in kind.

Despite kicking three goals on debut, Jarryd Roughead says Hawthorn ruckman and teammate Luke Lowden would "understand" if he was squeezed out of Hawthorn's team to play Carlton on Friday night.
After waiting more than five years, Lowden arrived with a bang in the Hawks' 44-point win over West Coast in Launceston.
The 23-year-old competed strongly in the ruck against Nic Naitanui and Dean Cox, winning 15 hit-outs and gathering 12 touches, and slotted three memorable goals.
But with first-choice ruck combination David Hale and Ben McEvoy pushing to return from injury, Lowden could find himself back at Box Hill.
"He knows it's a tough ask to try and break in each week," Roughead said.
"But that's why he's been playing consistent footy at Box Hill the last few years and got his crack on the weekend.
"That just shows the depth that we've got - that a bloke like that can step up and not only contribute but contribute well. To kick three goals, it's a very good effort on debut.
"So hopefully he can stay in, but we'll wait and see what the coaches think."

You are truly a very little man.

Yet the best you can do is mock. Pathetic, pathetic little man.

Awww did I expose your total lack of football knowledge and you've gone to water. Poor, precious, little self-important thing.

Whose your top 5 tapper downs in the league?
