I loved the way Voss talked in glowing terms about how Hawthorn physically smashed Sydney. And that's something that's built up over a number of years. He was a lynchpin in an extremely physically strong and intimidating Brisbane team. I'm excited that he will continue to build that aspect of Ken's philosophy. Port Adelaide Football.

Voss just dismissed talk of being a few points away from a grand final. He knows that can be a thousand kilometres away from ultimate success depending on the mindset of the team you run into. Every decision you make has to be successful in a grand final. And those decisions have to be made over and over again to become second nature.

Great leader and great attitude. He sounds so excited to be here and back into footy.

Yep, much of what he said was music to the ears! When he brought up the fact we lost the prelim by a few points, I was releived to hear him say that 3 points is a fair gap (or whatever he said), rather than say 'they were a kick away'. halle***inglujah!!

I know its easy to get caught up in the hype but I feel more confident than ever that we have traded up.

Its like we traded in our Mercedes for a Ferrari and the dealer gave us cash back.
More like traded in our Merc for a Sherman tank.

Throw a couple of three syllable words at them and it's the equivalent of a left rip, right hook combo from Muhammad Ali in his prime.

But bloody hell Voss is impressive.

Pretty much what I said a couple of times that the big bodied Hawks mid field smashed a big bodied Sydney mid field and that there was no guarantee our players could have done that if we made the GF

I like his 3 points is a fair gap comment.

Let's not be seduced like cows still go on about 2012 and that 1 kick. Vossy already motivating and teaching. Super impressive but gee Ken, god like. My only doubt with vossy given he has been #1 as captain then coach, can his ego (not that it will huge) be managed under Ken? After watching them together I have no doubt

Sorry for the intrude. As a vossy fan I am absolutely stoked he has been given another chance. He will be a great addition to the awesomeness of ken Hinkley. Your clubs going the right way and have turned it around fast. It's good to see and gives me hope the lions can do the same.

I've hardly heard any port fans go down the "we were 1 kick away" BS line, we are a more mature band of football followers than the muppets down the road.

*I am gloriously immature in other ways & proud of it though

Voss nearly looked spellbound and in wonderment when Ken was speaking glowingly about him.

The "how many clubs get a three time premiership captain and brownlow medalist come to work with their playing group?" had him trying to hide his grin, gazing like one of the players.

think ill make a "King Kenny" banner next year!

If he had a massive ego, it would have been smashed by Brisbane's board when they sacked him. I'm sure he has points to prove.

Great interview from Ken and our new Midfield Manager, Michael Voss. How great does 'new Midfield Manager, Michael Voss' sound? One of the greatest midfielders of any generation passing on his knowledge and experience to our relatively young, exciting midfield group.
Ken and Michael are both strong honest people who I trust will thrive working closely together to improve and develop our players.
I'm just so excited about this appointment.

I'll admit, right after Port got done in both the AFL Prelim and SANFL Grand Final it hurt a lot that we lost by under a kick.

But I have gotten over it around when the trade period started because i'm so pumped for 2015 and what we can achieve.
I'm sure our (very young) playing group will raise the bar next year and won't accept anything less than being the best.

How good would it be to be meeting in a Grand Final in the not too distant future.

Who was/is Brisbane's media coach because Voss and Hart speak really well.

Rowe and Bone were just left speechless by Voss.
Voss is a very astute man, he's always been an exceptional speaker. Once again your team has hit the jackpot!

I wish I could like this more than once.

Whenever I see articles like the recent one about us being the next powerhouse, I can't help but get really excited about what our future holds. Of course this means jack. But it is quite nice to hear these things, especially from where we came from only 2 years ago.

Sounds like Vossy is going to take Boaky under his wing and guide him through the pressures of being a young (hopefully very successful) skipper!!!

There simply is NO better man that could do this period!!!

Then there is Ollie... our next captain IMO - he is going to be scary good with the guidance of Voss!!!

I am super excited with what OUR club is building, sustained periods of success is one of Vossy's main objectives - FARKING PERFECT!!!
