Preview Hypothetical Under 23 All-Australian Team

I cbf to make my own team but Alex Johnson? I mean I know he's a good player but the guy hasn't played for a long long time now. Not sure why he's in the team.

What a bizarre post and even-more-bizarre response.

No one in the team has had a better game in a bigger game than Johnson did in the 2012 Grand Final. He MUST be in this team!!!

Brodie Smith is coming off an AA season on a half-back flank, and David Swallow has spent the majority of his career back there, although he played more through the midfield in 2014. Both no-brainers for me. Langdon is solid but his upside is pretty low - can't personally ever see him making an AA team. Elliott was very unlucky however. Had him in originally in a forward pocket, but he got squeezed out in favour of Daniher because the team lacked height (before I moved Daniher to the bench). Parker has played a lot on a flank due to Sydney's ridiculous midfield depth, and O'Meara simply needed to be in the team somewhere because he is a freak who will almost definitely win a Brownlow. I think half forward will suit him, with bursts through the midfield (a la Stevie J / Chapman in their prime).

I agree that Witts is currently better than Grundy, but Grundy's upside is far greater IMO which got him the nod. That latter part of 2013 was absolutely ridiculous from a ruckman that young (Grundy) and I'm not jumping off him as an elite prospect like some have.

i wasnt talking about Brodie Smith, he is about the most deserving player named there, but stating Swallow has spent most of his career on the back flank is abit of a stretch, he played alot of 2013 on the back flank, but other than that he is been a midfielder, especially this year when he was in All Australian form half way through the year.

Pretty fascinated by no Heppell or O'Meara. Don't rate them? It's all subjective of course, but they were two I figured would be in everyone's team.

Forgot about them.

really? Crouch, Shiel and Green over Wines. Okay :drunk::rolleyes:

This might be a fair snap shot of the actual AA team in say 5 years time when most of these guys are reaching or approaching their prime.

That and I was bored.

Also why do you have Mcstay over Hombsch?

My boy Cameron Suttclife, not one mention

So underrated. Watch him carve it up in 2015
He has some stiff competition here but he flies under everyones radar. One of the more polished and consistent performers from his draft year but the fact he was picked in the 70's in the draft renders him invisible to all except Freo supporters.

I'm gonna come up with a under 33's AA team soon. Just because ...

Whats the point of it? ... who are they going to play>

Who does the actual AA team play?

What's the point of anything on bigfooty? Why do we discuss team changes/injuries/suspensions every week? None of it actually has any bearing on what actually happens.

If you don't like hypothetical discussions or opinions bigfooty isn't the place for you.

Call me biased but I'd be picking Dom Tyson ahead of Toby Greene every day of the week.

Jarrod Witts is 22 and further into his development than Grundy, though Grundy has the higher potential.
Other players from Collingwood that would be in contention for an under 23 all aussie team would be:
Fasolo, Elliott, Langdon, Adams, Williams, Frost and Broomhead.
