Rabbitohs statement regarding incident in Arizona

Two South Sydney Rabbitohs players, Luke Burgess and John Sutton, were involved in an incident in Arizona at the end of the team’s high altitude training camp last year.

The Rabbitohs informed the NRL Integrity Unit of the incident straight away and have kept the Integrity Unit informed along the way.

It related to alleged disorderly behaviour of the two players, who were charged. Charges that were laid have since been withdrawn.

Despite the charges being withdrawn, the players were disciplined internally by the Club for breaching the Club’s Code of Conduct, in consultation with the NRL, and the NRL is completely satisfied by the actions taken by the Club.

This email shed a little light on Sutton losing the captaincy & Luke Burgess' release to Manly

Have you seen the papers today? Seemed like a pretty big altercation.

Let's be honest it's not as bad as some of the stuff that's gone on in the past and for what he has done for the club it's minor.

I think it was more the fact the Rabbitohs are going for a squeaky clean image (and good on them!). Didn't help they tried to cover it up initially but no real harm has been done.

It wad hardly covered up, the club found out. Dealt with it. (Released Burgess, stood down Sutton)
Emailed the NRL with the details immediately who were happy with the action taken.

The whole world didn't need to know, for mine the only reason the email was sent I reckon is the media got wind of it and they felt they had to.

Return to Redfern

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS 20 (S.Taukafa, S.Manuleleua, E.Syme, J.Hedges tries; J Hedges 2 goals)
drew with
NORTHERN PRIDE 20 (S.Tadulala 2, B.Anderson, L.George tries; J.Biondi Odo 1, J.Verney 1 goals)

Pride were leading 20 to 8 with around 10 minutes left.

Good ending for me being a follower of Souths and living in Cairns.

It's only Saints, though! :p

I expected a comfortable Souths win, but this could be embarrassing for Saints.

Nowhere near good enough, at any rate. To be fair, Souths look far and away the best of the three NRL sides we've seen this weekend. Be really interesting to see how they go against the Broncos.

Souths just killed the World Club Challenge. Surely, they could of let in a few late tries so the game retains interest? :D
The real gap between The Super League and The NRL was exposed today.

That performance from the Bunnies would have beaten the Dragons and Broncos sides Warrington and Wigan faced by a similar margin. They hit the ground running and all credit to them.

At the risk of being pedantic, aren't you missing the minor premiership? Yep, the most irrelevant of all the trophies.

Is that still a thing?

I guess it's important like Gould is.
