It wouldn't be just to make a point.

It would be because after about 100 games and being giving enormous opportunity, the combination of Priddis, Shuey, Selwood, Masten, Rosa and Gaff has proven beyond doubt that it is not good enough to win enough games of AFL football and therefore must be changed immediately and permanently.

If this combination is allowed to dominate midfield minutes this season, Simpson must be sacked.
I really have no idea what drugs simmo is smoking to think this same combination is all of a sudden going to make top four.

It makes me sick to the stomach to think the same players will be there next week with the same result.

Yep agree there is a lot of divided opinion on Sheed ATM and there is a good possibility that there will be a 300 plus page thread titled How Much Longer Can Sheed Be Played.

But for me Sheed is capable of doing everything Priddis can do plus some. Has a better kick, better over head mark, and faster (not hard to be i know )
Yeah. Shred plays 15 games and people want his head.
Priddis and co over 100 and still poor bit they are OK.
Makes sense

Bit harsh on Butler. He dropped one mark I think and had a bad kick into the forward line but the rest of the time his tacking, running to provide an option for team mates and also running to provide a shepherd or back up was good. Nelson seemed a bit overawed and reluctant to get in and get the ball but he will only get better with game time. Lamb doesn't lack confidence at all but the delivery to him wasn't good. Again, he needs game time. On dropped marks, I don't think there was one player who didn't. I don't see Bennell as a back pocket as he is too small on gets monstered buy he would be handy up the ground. We must give McInnes a go at CHB and Ellis is a certainty. It's hard to pick players who must be dropped as although some are playing bad they will stay due to their rep. Maybe some of the kids will have to play WAFL as there may be too many at the same time.
Re your comments on butler..aaaaaaaàaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa

Not where it matters though,

Our midfield core is much older than theirs. That is frightening. Theirs will get much better. Ours will be lucky to maintain what we did last year, let alone improve on last year.
Our is an old beat up lada and theirs a monaro running the engine in.

I like Butler and have defended him in the past but he was rubbish last night. Just makes poor decisions under pressure. He used to be a fairly reliably silky ball user but the game has gone past him.

Sheed isn't going to be the player we all wanted him to be, look at Bontempelli...he's the type of mid we need desperately..trade to get Bonts I say.
Quick, someone ring vozzo we should just tap bontempelli on the shoulder and tell him he's playing for us next year. Bullies can have our brownlow medallist to replace him as a trade

That changed last year, after about 4-5 games if I recall. I remember making an observation about it to a mate of mine.

Hahaha yeah right let's hope Duggan keeps playing like he did at the weekend then we have a basis for realistic comparison. Also Bont is an outlier like Judd let's hope Sheed and Duggan are more like Hodgey. A man can dream can't he?!

don't really agree that mcginitty should stay in the team.
He is not quick, old murph out sprinted him on a few occasions.
I assume Yarran is the man to tag from Carlton's back-line, if mcginitty is on him that will get ugly quickly.
I reckon we get Bennell to come in and play that role (cripps also has the speed to play as a defensive fwd, but is becoming a weapon in his own right).

Bennell in for Mcginitty
Ellis in for Butler
Schofield in for Brown
Newman in for Lamb - Purely because I think Newman offers more as sub. Happy for Lamb to remain in the team though.

some of our mids should be on notice.

D: Hurn McGovern Rosa
D: Sheppard Schofield Ellis
M: Gaff Priddis Yeo
F: Wellingham Lycett Masten
F: Lecras Kennedy Cripps
R: Natanui Shuey Selwood
I: Bennell Nelson Sheed
S: Newman/Lamb

Given Bennell, Yeo, Welingham can all play/help in defense could probably add more height to FWD line also (Lamb) instead of Nelson.

OUT: GINNERS, MASTEN, ROSA, PRIDDIS, BUTLER, BROWN AND ANYONE TO SLOW TO DISPOSE OF A ****ING BALL

IN: BENNELL, DUGGAN, NEWMAN, ELLIS, MCINNES

Bennell off a wing. Surely he is a better prospect than Rosa?

Duggan to provide a cool head, even though he would be a first gamer, I think he would act calmer than most of our players under pressure.

Newman to replace "Role Player" Ginners, seriously he must have some shit on Simmo for him to ALWAYS BE PLAYING. I MEAN SERIOUSLY HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN ON OUR LIST FOR??

Ellis to replace Butler. Need I mention why?

MCINNES because I dont care about this season and I want to see what he is capable OF

We should have won that game last night. Tackling errors (or umpire errors) that allowed dogs 4 goals from free kicks within 20 metres of goals plus 2 shocking short kick outs to a turnover by McGovern (Hurn should be kicking out not an inexperienced player). That is 6 goals right there. Fix those problems. in fact the free kicks stopped in the second half but the damage had been done. Three were in the first quarter when we had some momentum. Brown going down did not help the team stability when we had two players who had never played an AFL game. The decision to blood two debutantes in an away game is questionable when we were trying to recover from the loss of our champion backman and forward. Simpson has work to do on his coaching/thinking.

You can make all the excuses you want but how many shots on goal did they have? 27. That equates to a midfield unit thank gave ours a baking. They could/should have won by 10 goals if they had kicked straight and we hadn't.
Forget about the umpiring and wake up to the fatc our midfield is shit. It is new for us, we have never really had a shit midfield before.

A lot of those dogs so called shots were forced and a lot from a long way out. They also had some snaps that were lucky. Yes our midfield was poor in places showing ineffective tackling. Dogs seemed to be better coached because they were in the right place more often than our guys. If they were tackled they generally got the ball out to a waiting player whereas our guys were crunched. We were also too slow to pick up players when we lost the ball. It could have been a confidence thing having lost Brown Mac and Darling from preferred line up with two debutantes in the first game in a strange and very noisy place. Simpson must take a lot of the blame for the loss. It was Simpson's game plan, his coaching and his selection (largely).

Bollocks

He's inherited a shit midfield, that some on here picked up on 5 years, that aren't going anywhere.

The fact you questions why there were 2 x debutants leads me to believe that you too overrate this list, together with the paid professionals at our club.

I applaud Simmo in having 2 x debutants. In fact, here's hoping we debut even more. Debut the whole **** lot of them in the next few weeks,

Because our bunch of no hoper midfielders (spineless butchers) will never get the job done.

I'm a Sheed fan but getting sent back to WAFL will only improve him and create hunger to play Afl
Exactly what I was saying in the match thread, I haven't given up hope that he can a good player, but I'd like him to show the same hunger in the WAFL as Duggan and Waterman has in their first few games and eventually earn his place in the team.

I think lucas being elevated and emergency means he will be first cab off the rank. I dont see gow he will help but I can see it happening

White noise. That's all you are creating because the reality is we lost and our midfield got baked by a side we usually dominate. The problem and even Simmo said this was our midfield wasn't up to it.

It is a recurring issue when our midfield is put under ANY pressure including running pressure.
Keep your head in the sand all you want.

It seems like an upgrade for the hell of it. Even if he is doing well in the WAFL we know he isn't going to improve our side. Newman, on the other hand, has the potential to. Hopefully he gets upgraded shortly.
