If Trengove comes back this week it would be for Jonas - a week or so in the 2s is probably just the kick in the arse that he needs to get him back to somewhere close to where he needs to be!!!

Clurey has done enough to hold his spot IMO!!!

Ryder in for SGray of Stewy sounds about right to me!!

In theory Stewart should be able to provide just as much run as Broadbent. That said, I still wouldnt be prepared to drop broady just yet. He's played some good football but has been too inconsistent.

It's a bit like me mentioning Hartlett not playing to his full potential, Broady was dropped because of it...... I can't see Ken making changes for the sake of it, reward the team who are dragging us back into form. It will be more for structural reasons and opposition this week. It's been nice weather too and Friday night will be no exception, Ken will want a team full of pace.

Broady's kicking on Saturday night was deplorable. I reckon he is one of our most important cogs when up and about but the kid is so down on confidence it inst funny.

There was a time in the third quarter Pittard and Broady were running along side each other, I looked like one of them said to the other, you deal with it, kick the bloody thing!

if trengove is fit i think they might bring him in help to cover Hawkins, likewise if Ryder is fit they will bring him in. Unfortunately at the expense of Clurey and Stewart. both players coming in will replace the same players that replaced them. Hoff played well Sat night but most of his good work was done in the backline not up forward. It seems as though with Stewart is allows Shultz to be a more stay at home forward and he doesnt need to roam as much thats the different that Stewart has given the side.

Young won't be dropped i don't reckon nor should he

Which of his 8 disposals, 2 clangers, 0 marks, 2 tackles, 2 clearances at 50% efficiency impressed you that much that he would be undroppable? Especially since his possession numbers would be inflated by the fact that we were all over them in the last quarter?

He had 8 touches in less than a qtr. He was probably playing concussed too.

Allowed one of Gray/Wingard, sometimes both to spend time forward in the last qtr without us getting destroyed in the clearances.

We need more midfield options, haven't replaced Polec and Kornes.

What other reasons do you need?

I think he will be dropped though. and if that happens he should ask for a trade.

I'm not saying drop him, I'm just saying he's not UNdroppable. Not going to be fussed if there is no change to the lineup or if they bring in other players, but of those that would be under the pump he's probably first in line since he was the sub.

As much as I agree with this I can't see the coaching staff dropping Jonas ahead of Clurey even though he's playing better footy defensive/offensively.

Jonas will all but definitely get the first crack at Stevie J but in the respective form they're in TJ could likely have a few early goals kicked on him before we switch Hombsch to him who'll shut him down, that's providing Hawkins doesn't kick a few on Bobby. Atm Hombschy is the mr fix it of the backline.

Agree, he'll just go back to the SANFL and get another 25 to 30 possessions. I am pretty confident that he'll be a long term AFL player so I'd like to see him get a good run of games assuming that he is not grossly out of form.

I'd like to see Amon get another game, I think we have enough strength in the side to carry a rookie. Impey seems to be really comfortable at AFL level and believe that last years 15 or so games held him in good stead for this year.

As much as Sam Gray has played ok, I'd like to see Andrew Moore come into the team to see what sort of future, if any, he has at the PAFC. He missed the biggest opportunity of all when he was suspended for 3 games in the SANFL.

I don't think they will risk either of Trengove or Ryder if they aren't 100% fit given the coming bye. Well, maybe Trengove, but he has track record on his side and was apparently running pretty well yesterday.

Didn't say he was undroppable but coming on as sub and copping a big knock straight away didn't help if you drop him for having 1 ordinary quarter as a sub there was no point picking him in the first place.

Better player than Moore & more experienced than Arch, why would you drop him?

In my humble opinion, I think that Aaron Young does most things pretty well. He had a few clangers last week, he needs the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't long ago that he was being praised by all and sundry after the Hawthorn game. Kenny obviously likes him too because he seems to be the first cab off the rank for promotion from SANFL to AFL.

I think Paul Stewart will be an interesting one, I thought he was ok on the weekend given he probably hasn't played an AFL game in 12 months. If he is dropped, I think it is pretty clear that his contract extension was for one thing only, squad depth.

Can't believe Clurey is getting so much support, until the last quarter he was horrible. Lots of comments in my area about how he was proving a liability.

Also good to see a couple others recognize that our best footy came when Young came on and our balance of ball winners to flankers was right.

For mine

IN: Ryder, Moore (as sub)
OUT: Clurey, Amon

Young into starting 21. Sub out Ryder at 3 qtr time.

Dont mind seeing Ryder For Stewy. But amon or gray must make way for a moore or pacey mitchell. Young could go around again as sub.
WTF? Amon possibly for Mitchell? Amon is faster and massive step up in disposal efficiency. All Mitchell has is he can run out a full game. I'd take 3 quarters of Amon over 4 quarters of Mitchell for outside speed any day of the week.

Did someone donate some tickets to the local blind school?

What small forward role? Gray has kicked multiple goals in a game once in his career. He's had 1 shot on goal from 3 games this year. We're not losing anything in terms of a small crumbling forward if he gets dropped.

Just to clarify, I wasn’t advocating Gray’s spot in the team, I was advocating the need for a small/medium forward line player to pressure the ball carrier and create turnovers in the forward half and that can be used as an extra runner around the stoppages. I don’t want to see Gray be replaced with Ryder, Stewart keeps playing as a lead up target, we go too tall in the fwd line, we look slow and they get easy exits out of our forward 50. If Stewart stays in, I want him to reprogram himself and to change his role in the forward line. His primary role will no longer be to play tall but to play small and I’d also like to see him used in the midfield rotations every now and then.

Ryder apparently trained with the main group and was fine, Jacko was put through some running drills.

If they pull up well for training tomorrow then they could be picked.

Sound to me like Jacko will play vs Carlton.
