Still get the feeling they are working through a few players, seeing what they've got, to settle it all down later in year. On that theory Moore will get his opportunity soon enough.
You'd bloody hope so. That's just good list management, you never know when you'll need someone so you need to rotate the squad players through.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour? It's a long season.

11 weeks to go in the season after this weekend. We're smack bang in the middle of said long season and Moore is a Newton, Thomson, Symes variety emergency. And they would've played at least 1 AFL game by now.

I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling that, in the same way Butcher had his card marked for the dropped chest mark against Norf in round 3 last season, Moore has been similarly assessed for that late missed goal in the Prelim.

Don't think he'll be sub as some are suggesting. Willing to bet that Young will be sub again and Amon will be directly replaced by Colquhoun. Barring the identities that fill the spots I think our 22 is very well structured. I don't believe we need another contested ball player and Young replacing Amon would be silly given Young really struggled getting the "easy" touches. We finally re-adjusted our extra back flanker for forward pressure crumber and outside mid for inside mid (Arch/Young for Amon) would hate to go back to a more plain side, which it is when Boak, Hartlett, Gray, Ebert, Wines are already in the team to get the ball out.

Only bit I'm disappointed in is he has been selected off back of 1 good game albeit with a positional change. Thought KMitch was more deserving of the spot.

Josh Carr was on 5CC 20 minutes ago and said Moore just needed to string a few games together in the SANFL after his suspension, said he only played two games since coming back in, needed a couple more

I was always taught that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything. So I was gonna just rage quietly and bite my tongue, because I guess Colquhoun deserves a shot. On Friday night. As a player returning from an ACL. In one of our biggest games of the year. I mean, he must have been tearing up the SANFL with five appearances in the top five players in a row, right?

Right??

But this ****head Carr...so blatantly transparent with his bullshit. Moore has played three games, so he doesn't even know his own midfield group. He got 2nd best against Adelaide, 3rd best against Glenelg and 3rd best against Centrals. But from a bunch of incompetent front running, let's pick Redden/O'Shea/S.Gray/Colquhoun morons I'm not ****ing surprised.

Every ****ing year it's the same ****ing story. We'll go up to Sydney and get smashed because these ****head selectors gift games to players who aren't going to even feature in our finals campaign. Colquhoun got games in 2013 because we didn't have Impey. No other reason. He's not particularly skilled but hey, he can run and that's all that matters. Too bad in finals there's only so many outside runners you need and the bulk of the work is done by inside contested players.

We'll get to the bye, they'll pick whoever is performing out of Ah Chee/Moore to face Sydney and wonder why they aren't up to speed and every **** with an agenda on this board will say "See, he's shit!" Meanwhile a guy like Colquhon can spud it up in the SANFL but get selected against Geelong and Carlton (don't kid yourself thinking they'd pull this shit just for one game) after one solid game because he has "elite running", like as if this is a skill set that is somehow a justification for their bullshit.

I was expecting Ah Chee. I hoped for Moore. I could tolerate Mitchell if they really thought they needed to replace Amon. Those players have been ****ing consistent in their performance week in, week out. But if we're playing a "Let's see how many players we can play for no justifiable reason" game with the rest of the competition we are ****ing Phar Lap.

Think its more the incident with the umpire. Showed he was undisciplined and it was an act that ultimatly costed him and the team. He was in ripping form before the incident and no doubt he would of came in to help our midfield brigade while wines was out. Further his attitude in the video doesnt help his cause. No doubt knowing ken he would of had his own little internal suspension of moore (not playing afl) because what he did in the coaches eyes was that bad

Don't think that's it. I think it's as simple as structure. Outside player for outside player. Ah Chee is stiff Moore is maybe stiff but had it not been Hoon then it would have been Mitchell. It is simply structure.

The most positive poster on the board, ladies and gentlemen! ;)

Moore and ah chee were never going to come in for Amon. Makes zero sense.

Can argue maybe take youngs spot as sub. But is that really that beneficial? Young is probably the more effective sub anyway.
It makes zero sense if you believe our current team balance is right. What a lot of us are saying is that the balance IS NOT right. We need Moore or AhChee because we are desperately lacking another ball winner.

We are relying on too few and it is allowing other teams to control the midfield for portions of the game. It's no coincidence that when Young came on we looked far better. The 1st 1.5 qtrs against Melb and 1st and 3rd qtrs against WB can't be ignored.

Outside player out. Outside player in. Thats all it comes down to. Trying to keep the winning team together.

Im shocked Hoon has been named but will back him in.

He may have been judged, but there is a 0.0000000000% chance that shot had anything to do with it.

Boak, Gray, Hartlett, Wines, and Ebert go ok...

I would say we need more run to play that polec role. Hence why we bring in young to replace Amon.

I would probably rather Moore or arch to s.gray. But not to replace amon

I was responding to more why he is still out rather than why hoon got selected.

Completely agree. Moore is a big body who can win the ball but he butchers it when he gets it and too often has brain fades (umpire touch case in point). I think this comes down to his ability to concentrate for a full game which also goes against him being a successful run with player to take Kane's spot.

All in all I think his pluses are negated by some fatal flaws in his game.

Don't hold back so Janus. What do you really think :)

Moore will get his chance in the second half of the season. And if we plays finals I don't doubt he will feature there as well.

Has been cruelled by injury. I certainly think he has great potential, although how much time does that really buy you?

I'm not too unhappy but its another example of our strange and inconsistent selection.

Mitchell is always our go to guy when we want an outside runner, but just for something different we've plucked Colq out of nowhere instead. Ok.

Part of me hopes this means Mitchell has burnt his bridges with the selectors but I know he'll probably be recalled next week replacing Clurey or Young.
