Sorry to intrude guys, but from a Suns supporter's perspective after skimming through this thread, I see no mention to Schofield tearing Dixon a new one.

Until now Dixon has had a pretty easy run in the forward 50, even against quality teams. He was shut down completely and there were numerous times throughout the night where he was ragdolled around, pushed to the ground, or just thrown about. Never seen that happen to big Charlie before - so well done to Will for showing Charlie how a real defender plays.

You guys may not have seen it on TV, but watching from the sideline and rotating ends each quarter so I was behind the goals of the Suns' direction, Schofield pretty much nullified Dixon's presence to the point where Dixon's temper boiled over numerous times.

Give the man some credit - top work, Will.
Turns out Will getting over his sore quad got us the draw in the end. :P
Would hate to have seen what would happen if he had missed.

+ Positives +

Priddis' comments at the end said it all.

"We didn't deserve to win that one."

It hurts, but the team will be better for this.

- Negatives -
A few things, but mainly poor kicking and set shot accuracy.

Josh Hill, no tackles, 2 marks and 3 kicks ... not working anywhere near hard enouvh, a lazy effort. Out!

Reckon the shoulder he copped against Collingwood is still suss, eg. I saw him rotating his arm painfully after the final siren against the Swans. Having said that, cross the white line and you're expected to perform.

Playing injured should be rested.

A lot of the team looked sore, josh kennedy looks like he needs a week off.

Kennedy & Darling get manhandled so much its not funny. Ludicrous.
Whatever happened to holding the man? Ridiculous umpiring has crept into the game over the past few years whereby a player tackling another who is over the ball is paid "in the back" against just because he resides over the back of the player being tackled (rather than shoving him in the back), yet all year the forwards of the game are held while the ball is in flight or even before it is kicked, yet no "holding the man" free is ever paid.

They want the superstars of the game to come to the fore and have goal kicking power forwards again - then look at how the game should be bloody umpired! There is no need to revolutionise this game. Just umpire it properly FFS.

I hear people saying that, due to Hawthorn's superior percentage, the fact that we are 6 points instead of 8 points ahead of them is moot. It is not. Had we won tonight by a healthy margin, our percentage could have edged their's and given us 2nd place on ladder (1st until Freo beat GWS - GO GWS) with a clear 2 game breathing space.

Now it is likely we will play the first QF @ MCG v Hawthorn, lose it, play SF @ Domain and if we win that, play Freo @ Domain for a spot in the GF.

Yeh, but if we end up tied on points with them, we'll have to have lost 2 more games than them, which would've shot our percentage compared to theirs anyawy.

I had to sleep on it because I was pretty pissed off last night. I think we all know we are a lot better than that and will hopefully be fired up to prove a point now when we take on the Hawks.
It sucks watching but even the best teams can have an off game so having a draw isn't really the worst result.

also want to add that shreds mark was epic.

- Guess Simpson was being honest when he said the goal was just to get more than 13 wins this season. After our 14th, just turned off.

+ Couldn't watch the last 10 minutes, saw that we feel from #1 on the live ladder after the game and assumed we lost. Honestly surprised we even managed a draw with the **** we dished up.

- If they had had Ablett, O'Meara and Swallow in, we were about due for a loss. But being defeated by an unmanned side speaks volumes about our mental state.

+ Every other team has had fades this season. This is our first major one for 14 rounds (I don't count the NM game which was a lottery).

- Lost %.

+ Have to beat Hawks next week now.

- Physical game will leave us sore for next week.

Would love a gif of the mark.

Anyone?

+1!! Missed this. :(

Positive is that we got two points.

Negative: Goal kicking was awful and players were not running as hard and presenting options. We went back to bombing it 2013 style. 6 day break and the longest road trip in footy is probably to blame. I'm backing us to come out firing against the hawks

I knew when I came in here Hutch would be quite a few people's scapegoats. Sure he should of kicked the goal, but then so should of 90% of the other guys who had shots that are actual forwards. Darling, Kennedy, Le Cras, Cripps and Hill were woeful in front of goal last night. Hutch was good for most of the night hitting targets and winning the footy in a few crucial contests to help us score so I wouldn't be blaming him for our efforts.

The bottom line is we just did not show up last night. We didn't even start playing til the 10 minute mark of the last quarter when we were 10 points down. Sure some of the umpiring decisions were ridiculous but we are incredibly lucky we didn't lose last night as we were pathetic. If we dish that up next week we will get pantsed by 50+.

On the positive side Barrass was good in his second game, Sinkers played well and Sheeds mark was ace. :)

+ Sheed
+ Sinclair - played well and his knee was ok
+ Played badly, still got a draw
+ still haven't lost to expansion club

- Played shockingly
- Can't hold onto a lead with 1 minute to go.
- Goal Kicking
- Kennedy's marking up forward (umpires?, forward entries? or just not clunking them?)

Wow talk about the year being gone is just childish from some of you, we had a bad night just as Hawthorn did, we came away with 2 points which we were lucky to get yet also did well enough to win by 5 goals if our goal kicking was at least Auskick level.
We have been exceptional all year and you don't just think the worlds going to end after one bad game, our work rate was terrible, we never shared the ball and instead kicked long bombs all night. It was so not us last night.
Sweeping changes are not required and I am sure just as Hawthorn next week will come out steaming I reckon we will to.
For you guys that are ready to commit suicide, settle down and understand you cannot produce your best effort every week. It is not as simple as many of you may think it is.
We will be just fine and still finish where our win/loss puts us.

Hutchings running down the wing, ball in front, just needs to keep it going forward, gets pushed off, rebound for a goal.

Pathetic effort, then the missed shot. Darling's kicking was shithouse, Lecras missed some pretty standard shots.

Kicking to Kennedy was absolute dog shit, poor bloke, gets scragged for zero reward from the umpires.

Schofield's shitty little defensive kick ...

Nobody could keep their feet (change boots maybe?) and wtf was with the bombs around the corner? Where was the space created by runners like normal?

Atrocious skills all game and pathetic efforts when the ball hit the ground it was as good as GC's ball, we looked slow and 3 feet off the drop of the ball everywhere.

We really should have won that game by 60 points, I hope though this was "our loss" for the boys and we managed to scrape 2 points, after that effort I hope they all fire up for the run home, Simmo needs to blast them. 2 points is O.K. but it rules out having top spot.

Also, I miss Duggan.

Our kicking inside 50 has been steadily degrading and Kennedy has suffered accordingly. May seemed to have Josh covered for speed on the lead so he really needed to have the ball kicked to his advantage. When Josh has to out-muscle blokes and take one handed grabs he is always going to struggle.

We have to give credit to Gold Coast. They brought a lot of pressure and sustained it for almost the full 4 quarters.
