Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Chad one of the reasons we lost Shaun Burgoyne? And if we had Burgoyne instead of Hawks last year would we have another premiership?

If he was one of the reasons, it doesn't follow that we would still have had Shaun if we'd taken sides. Leave it at that. Apart from the personal side of it, with the state of our fitness regime 2009-2012 Burgoyne at Port may not have lasted all the way through the dark age.

Not sure what any of that has to do with employing Chad professionally. If it wasn't for Voss we might have had another flag somewhere in '01-'03. If it wasn't for Ken's planning '07 might not have been such a bath for us. If it wasn't for Chad we might not have won in '04. We don't owe any of these guys special employment consideration for their past associations.

Chad appears to have a history of being a bigmouth and a big ego. When we consider employing him professionally we need to either see if he's matured or just choose to work with it, deciding the risk is worth it for the expertise he has acquired.

I'd prefer Basset to backlines, Buddha to midfield and Nicks to forwards would be my preference.

For the previous three years, for the coaches that were moved on, we usually had a replacement planned (Gotch-Nicks; Rehn-Walsh; Walsh-Voss).

We already knew Hocking was coming back, we've been strongly linked with Bassett. Wonder if this was planned again.

I expect this is the bit where we wait a polite amount of time before announcing we have done an extensive search and identified Nathan Bassett as a new member of the coaching team, with a shuffle also including Hocking.
