Wow! I've seen cars get over a fence at a race track before but I can't recall one shooting off the wall like a berm like that before! Definitely a lot of luck involved in that incident, could've been horrendous.

NFI how he's managed that there at that corner.
Can't say he didn't see the camera car , long straight before that corner.
Camera car is on the racing line for that corner but iirc , slower cars MUST keep right on the 'Ring.

That would just be a road car too, not a race car with cage and harnesses? It's not often you see a car endo! I'd imagine he's had a complete brain fade and panicked when he woke up.

Pretty sure a few spectators were killed in the second accident.

Edit- One spectator killed, probably not appropriate in this thread.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_McNish

Well yeah one was killed, the one who had the engine land on his head.

Still, as far as this thread goes, I'm amazed McNish could have survived himself, along with at least a half dozen other spectators who were standing right there.

Yer the Donnington one is ordinary.
( Maybe spoiler that 1 ? )

The Le Mans one had a bit of " Hand of God " about it.
So did the Suzuka 1 too

I saw that Donnington many years ago and thought 'Surely you couldn't survive your car getting airborne, hitting a wall, jumping the wall, snapping in half, getting airborne some more, then rolling until the car has completely disintegrated.'

I counted how many rolls Piquet racked up

Johnnie Walker Sandown 75
Top of the back straight.
Has no recollection of the crash , was in a coma for a week.

Came back later the same year and co-drove the #1 factory Torana with Colin Bond - " 1975 zero *s given award winner "
