with Sydney pushing hard for a straight swap of cal sinclair for lewis jetta, brisbane might nab pick 17 for jack redden? maybe redden and 39 for 17 and 54?

would we consider 17 and 54 for casboult and bell?

spoke to a bloke last week who works pt at the geelong falcons. said young curnow could easily be the best player to come from there side. apparently has played everywhere and has been injured but said once he gets fit he sees him a lot like fyfe. would be top 3 if fit. if true what are our chances of getting him as sounds like what we need

My comment was mainly in response to the posters here packaging him up, which I expect is a response to the media comments like BringBackSOS linked. I think it's mainly the manager shit stirring as he's contracted. At least I hope so.
You don't get into the player manager business unless you are a shifty type, dont trust any of them.

casboult is already 26 next season... by the time we are any good he will be 30odd. i love him, but he is flawed.

say brisbane get 17 and 54 for redden and 39

would we trade:

cas and bell for 17 and 54?

then hendo and 54 for 2016 1st and 46

trade 20 for plowman and co

yaz 17, 38 56 for 12 31 49 2016 2nd rounder

that way richmond still have a 1st, and we get enough picks for father sons?

Go to draft with 1,12,31,46,49

also have additional 1st and second rounder for 2016 in stronger draft, while taking a chance on 4 GWS boys (hoping 1-2 become best 22)

As much as I would like to have Charlie Curnow. There is absolutely no chance of that happening. Unless somehow during the trade period, we miraculously end up with a pick between 6 and 10. That is where he is most likely to end up.

Bell and Levi are good average players but nothing more.
With an eye to the future, and with the knowledge that we want to build a side with ELITE young takent, I'm happy to part with both these guys if a decent trade can be negotiated

Pendles is twice the player Murphy is.

I used to think that. What he has brought to the table since Judd's retirement has made me reassess Murph. Yes, Pendles is a smoth, skilled, player and you would do a straight swap, but Murphy is hard at the contest, leads by example and has been closing th gap on Pendles to the extent that if their careers continue on the same tragectory, Murph could end up in the same conversation.
Heartbeat - and I think about it every time he plays against us.

Agree, but we got a great player, a club captain, a B&F winner, an all-Australian, and has played 200 games for the blues. If someone had told you before the draft, the kind of player he would turn out to be, you would still pick him at pick 1. Arguably, the only player who was taken at pick 1 and is the best in his draft year is St Nick. However, there seems to have been only one player since 1991 who was picked at 1 who did not end up being a champion of the club that picked him. Pick 1 gives you an opportunity to bring a absolute champion to your club. I am very happy with our pick 1's although I do acknowledge that in hindsight, none of them were the best player of their year.

Thanks for that. He does have a Boss aura about him, doesn't he?

It would be very hard to let go of our number one this year.
The kid is a gem. Just watching him go through the agility, vert jump, running jump and the 20m. Wow. PS. 3.04 for 20m. That's quick. Especially for a big defender.

.....and this kid is only 17 with a late December birthday. If his mother baked him for another few days and it would have been a 2016 draft for Weitering. :)

What we'll love about this guy is that he actually intimidates his opponents. He does all the right things when the ball isn't in his area.................never stops doing something and it all adds to the whole. Would love to see Jaksch half as active.

He'll do for the back-line what Hogan did for the forward line.............no high expectations though.

I'd ask Brisbane for their 2016 2nd for Bell. Would be around mid 20s you'd think. Then maybe package that with a 3rd rounder to GWS for Tomlinson.

I think we can pinch an okay pick for Warnock somewhere. A 3rd round pick for him would be brilliant.
I'd do our 3rd round and Warnock for a 5th round.

Weitering will be the last CHB to be taken since Riewoldt.. hmmm

Will be interesting to see if we take a look at Sam Grimley who the hawks delisted this week after 6 years of development. Could be an option for us depending on what we do with Warnock, Casboult, Jones and Phillips.

Hampson did the 20m in 2.72 if i recall.

That would be the combine record, so no, that's not what happened.

It was around the 3.0 mark from memory....not 2.72
Joel Wilkinson has thew record at 2.75.................didn't exactly serve him well, did it?

Grimley is probably better than what we currently have in Warnock and Wood, but Wood sin't going anywhere.

Wood doesn't need to be elevated though. I would just prefer investing time in someone like Grimley than Geelong's Walker, especially if it dilutes our pick return.

Does everyone think Weitering would be a walk up start for round 1 next year? I know Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer were and played most of the season injuries aside.

Not much talk about Bailey Rice, is he coming to us or the Saints? Or is Rice off the boil?

We've had enough Lamb jokes. Now you are trying to encourage Rice jokes?

I wouldn't be hurt if he did choose the saints. We have quite a few of his type and he isn't exactly the 'cream of the crop' in this draft.

Oh great...

He would be, but not fair to be giving him the big boys yet.............third tall would be a better way to ease him in.
