I know of 2 in Adelaide in the 70s Loys and another... and so bad is the memory of my stepfather that I have forgotten the name even though he drove for them.

We used to pinch them out of the back of the truck

There was Loys that were yellow and Dews who were green.

A while back I was walking through Northbridge on a hot day and decided to grab a drink from a 7-11. (Actually I don't think it was a 7-11 but that type of place.) They had all sorts of weird stuff that you don't see around normally, so I decided to try a can of sarsparilla since I'd only ever heard of it in American books or TV shows (probably Mad magazine mainly now I think about it). It was ****ing disgusting, I had about two mouthfuls and threw the rest away.

Thats it..used to come in a orange can with a weird texture and the ad had some country singer. I am sure it was replaced with sunkist the same as mellow yellow became lift and Leed became sprite.

Thanks peeps.

It didn't have a weird texture , it had little bubbles on the can. Not literal bubbles but printed into the design.

what does that taste like? i was going to buy a pack from coles, but dont want to waste if i hate it.
You might hate it. I always used to grab them out the eski at Christmas hoping for them to be like coke... they're not really. They taste a bit like a tangy, citrusy, carbonated drink. The closest fruit would be blood orange or something. Give them a go for $4.

Anyone else into aranciata and stuff like this?
