They probably wanted the numbers on a solid background, which would have meant the red hoop stopped, and figured that it'd look silly to keep the other two going.

Plus the "historical" element of the hoops not going all the way around is preserved :p
Toyota placement though could have been sooo much better

If you thought the Ritzfoy logo looked good, (name changed to stop LoyRion from searching it) you'll understand why we hate it.
We hate it? I think you're on your own there, buddy.

A similar updated version wouldn't go astray but if you'd prefer the paddlepop, you're exactly who the Lions were pandering to.

An updated version would look good. Not something completely different like the paddle pop.

In what way? It's in the normal spot.
If the hoops continued all the way around and it was half on yellow, half on blue, then yes. But it's fully on white.
All 3hoops all the way round and toyota logo underneath the hoops is an idea. Don't know if that would leave enough room for numbers

It's just them putting it in the league standard position. I don't think the AFL will change their rules for 1 club.

Obvious answer is make the hoops full and put the Toyota logo in a white box over the hoops isn't it?

Retails are unlikely to be regulated in such a way.

It's the player issue versions I'd expect to have more stringent requirements.

That said, some clubs have things on the back of the neck pushing the numbers down a bit.

(I'm not saying I think regulation is a thing - just that retails won't be the way to demonstrate it)

The PI also had the sponsor down low.

Numbers were pushed down for North, Brisbane and GC. This was most likely due to the fact that these teams all thought there would be names on jumpers.

Wouldn't mind it, but for the impact of the sponsor position.

You can't even make out the lion because the sponsor obscures the most important part of the graphic. It also highlights how poor the Fitzroy lion looks at large sizes... all those little squiggles and curves that remain for no good reason. I don't want a move to a lesser, inferior logo, but just a clean-up – it's a divisive issue on this board but I always liked the Costa lion.

Haha, this old chestnut. If it's all sublimated then how can that theory be possible? Why would BLK move numbers down for Brisbane and Gold Coast but not Richmond or one of their other teams? It just doesn't make sense; the only thing I put it down to is lazy and poor designing.
