You are putting words in her mouth. Has SHE eon record claiming to be offended by what was said?
Her boss, who spoke to her, said she was angry and upset. What more would you like?

You're being disingenuous to imply anyone is expecting Gayle to answer questions like an elite thinker. If he can't control himself for interviews that are part of the BBL players contract that is his **** up not anybody else's.
but if his world is tv cameras whenever he is in public, tv cameras are normalised, a tv camera pointed at him and an interview, do you expect him to alter his behaviour? even me framing the post with a term "behaviour" is like an allegation to CG, which I do not intend on this being.

I would prefer an unfiltered authentic behaviour from CG, not a social engineering contrived behaviour.

Come on. He plays Twenty20 cricket, not striker for Manchester United. It's not TV and paparazzi 365 days for him.

but the context if we have seen in the past 24 months, a very aggressive form of feminism a Clementine Ford backlash version of feminism evo where they look to hit back in multiple levels higher retaliation... And this might be the context.

The context may also be, Mel McLaughlin has had it up to here, with sportsmen hitting on her, and flirting with her, and inviting her to come up to their room. Or, like Nerolie said, Gayle has form here, and sees women as a means to an end.

Does she not speak for herself? Forgive me for being a little cynical about media organisations beating up a story more than necessary for headlines. I'm sure channel 7 most certainly didn't do that with Dusty either

I just realised Gayle is exactly like Inodminus Rex from Jurrassic World

I think to say he does it "to humiliate" is a bit unfair. I don't think that is his intent. He simply believes that he is an untouchable god in cricket, because that's the way the media keep portraying him.

This has more than a kernel of truth. His ego gets stroked that much he would probably figure himself untouchable.

not talking paparazzi. I am not talking Hollywood.

I am talking in Jamaica he would walk around like Buddy Franklin.

Here when it is at the cricket, all eyes and all cameras are on him.

When he walks into a nightclub here, all eyes are on him, and he gets the star treatment, he gets the private room, then the managers of the club and/or security can propisition the ladies that night if they wish to meet Chris and go to the private room there, and there will be dozens of women who are offered to meet him...

untouchable? no, I would say, this behaviour has been normalised, this behaviour would not be seen as inappropriate, why did Howie say last night on the first run throw "Chris getting a little amorous" and the commentary box having a chuckle.

Normalised. normal. not seen as inappropriate. even the commentary box on first run around, did not see it as inappropriate.

What he said was in poor taste, inappropriate and his faux-apology left a lot to be desired.

Women shouldn't have to go through that at their work place.

That squarely places the blame on her for being offended, not him for being inappropriate. How can you not see that?
Was it inappropriate? It really does depend on the way you look at it. I'm more concerned with what his intentions were - and his intentions were to have a laugh about it all without offending anyone. Now he has offended Mel - and he more or less knows this, so he's tried to apologise to her directly but hasn't been able to yet. The next best thing he can do is say sorry in the media - which he has. Not a heartfelt apology, sure, but I've seen far worse.

As it was happening you mean? I think they were a bit gobsmacked more than anything. They were keen to move on from it at the time but I thought Howie especially came off as disapproving in the immediate aftermath.
