yeah I do. In all seriousness imagine how ****ing sick you would feel from the stress that would hanging over your head over the last few years.Anyone else thinks today is the best thing that's happened to EFC in 4 years?

If you read the actual report, not media or various opinion pieces, I don't think you'd be as sympathetic toward the players. It is pretty damning of everyone involved. Players knowingly hid their injections and use of the pills by omitting it from their control forms. If you are taking something and failing to disclose it, as you do for everything else, kind of screams that they knew they were doing the wrong thing.Jeez you guys are very tough. How can you not feel even a modicum of sympathy for the players?
If you can believe what you read (I know, I know) some of them questioned the legality of it all and were assured that it was all good to go. Surely they could not have imagined that the club would put them in harms way.
IMHO the person who should bear the brunt of this whole disaster is the former god-like Hird. Always knew that there was a good reason I loathed him for all those years.
This is what makes it so good.Makes you wonder what would have happened if Essendon hadn't dragged this out for so long. If they'd put their hand up at the start, said yep we've done the wrong thing and taken a 6 month reduced ban for co-operating with ASADA you'd think they'd be in a much better position than they are now. As it stands this season will be the 4th year compromised by this shit, our sport looks like a laughing stock and the players involved are now 3 years older and have achieved virtually nothing since.

The league is an absolute joke, just read that if Essendon finish last this year they'll get to keep the number 1 draft pick. The elephant in the room is the AFL letting the players off in the original report. Funny that they were so eager to throw us under the bus in 2007. I guess we're just expendable in this comp compared to a Vic team.
Blame it all on Dank no doubt, poor Hirdy was deceived....Still wondering what Hird's version of the truth will be. Pity Australia doesn't have an Oprah equivalent for him to let it all out in a highly curated environment.

I'm gutted for Myers - he's a fantastic person and wouldn't have done anything untoward. He loves that club and he must feel so betrayed and sick in the stomach. Hopefully he comes back and has a great career post-2016.
Woosha does his best work under zero pressure. He's complete vanilla when something is expected of him though.
Essendon for top 8.
Watson will keep his Brownlow too. probably. The league is an absolute joke, just read that if Essendon finish last this year they'll get to keep the number 1 draft pick.
If it's the AFL's decision, he probably will, don't think WADA/ASADA would be overly interested in taking back awards. Didn't the AFL already say that they won't be taking further action? I hope that common sense prevails though to uphold the 'integrity' of the award.Watson will keep his Brownlow too. probably.
They were probably going to finish quite low anyway so it doesn't make much of a difference. The league is an absolute joke, just read that if Essendon finish last this year they'll get to keep the number 1 draft pick.
Such bullshit if he keeps it. The way the AFL is handling this whole thing makes me think that they think that all AFL fans are morons and are just going to believe the crap they and their media flogs keep peddling.Watson will keep his Brownlow too. probably.
They shouldn't get rewarded for this though, in fact there should be further sanctions for the club, the punishments they've received already are nothing compared to the punishments handed out to other teams for lesser offences. They were probably going to finish quite low anyway so it doesn't make much of a difference.
I dont think they have been rewarded. They have copped a bit. Probably around 1 and a half years all up player ban when you count the time they took off before. Loss of draft picks in 2013 and 2014. Kicked out of finals 2013. 2 million dollar fine. Coach banned and then sacked. The only advantage is they may rise a couple of spots in this years draft. The club is completely broken and probably wont recover for a long time its not really going to matter. There is a good chance Carlton still get the spoon too. They shouldn't get rewarded for this though, in fact there should be further sanctions for the club, the punishments they've received already are nothing compared to the punishments handed out to other teams for lesser offences.
I don't mind jobe Watson - he seems like a decent person and has carried himself with dignity throughout this saga for the most partWatson will keep his Brownlow too. probably.
You seriously don't see anything wrong with a club who has just been convicted of running a team-wide doping program getting the first pick in this years draft?I dont think they have been rewarded. Well ideally all of their penalties should have been at the same time but its been a mess. Draft picks and player bans etc. The AFL have already done their bit and now WADA has banned the players. Essendon now is functioning as a normal team just with out those players. If they happen to finish last and get a good pick what can you do. You cant just make up more punishments as you go.You seriously don't see anything wrong with a club who has just been convicted of running a team-wide doping program getting the first pick in this years draft?
And for all of the penalties imposed on Essendon for governance issues Adelaide still lost more draft picks for trying to pay Tippett a bit of extra money outside the cap, which is lesser crime imo.
Essendon are lucky they haven't been banned from the competition completely.
Their punishment wasn't for doping though, it was for poor governence - ie: not having records of what was given to players.Well ideally all of their penalties should have been at the same time but its been a mess. The AFL doesn't control the doping side of the sport from what I understand. Thats for ASADA or WADA.Their punishment wasn't for doping though, it was for poor governence - ie: not having records of what was given to players.
