I know I live in Victoria, but I'm a little relieved that I don't have to play in 42 degree heat being the only player under 43 and several players over 60. It's simply not safe.

That would be amazing, I think we should be doing more of this. Imagine being a young batsman, a Jake Lehmann for example, and being able to get advice off Jaya about playing spinners etc. Or being a young quick, like a Joel Paris, and being able to bowl to a legend of the game.

And Mahela covered by whatever rule let the Redbacks play Younis Khan a decade or so back?

Not only would it really help the young South Australian batsmen but it would really help Travis Head a lot.

Cosgrove is playing as a local in county. The thought had been that Cosgrove must be playing as an overseas player here.

I love Jayawardene and would quit my job if he played Shield cricket for us so that I could watch him every day but...

I hope we don't go down this path. I'm loving seeing a few more SA young guys get an opportunity this season. If Ferg out means an extended run for Kelvin Smith for instance then that's a good thing IMO.

We've gone the stop-gap, short-term solution before and it's always been a disaster and also negatively affects the development of our own talent.

IIRC Klinger wanted a 2 year deal, they were only offering a 1 year deal.

Smith was being courted by another state and with Cosgrove returning SA needed to be in a position to offer Smith games.

I wouldn't've offered Klinger a two year deal either. fact of the matter is in his last 4 FC seasons with SA he had averaged over 25 two times and below it two times. entering his mid 30's it wasn't exactly a slam dunk deal.

Losing Sayers, Richardson and Zampa to Australian duties on top of Fergie's ACL will hurt and is a position the Redbacks haven't found themselves in for a long time. Hopefully Mennie, Putland, Worrall and Andrews can help us knock the Vics off top spot.
