I guess we can take it that Wade's getting dumped from the ODI side as well then?

Can't see him making the test side as a batsman, international bowlers are a step up from shield bowlers and I don't see him averaging 40+ at test level.

But he'd be a very good batsman for Victoria if he specialised.

The keeping one is a bit controversial.

Harry Nielsen (son of the boss) has been keeping in the Future's team. The only other keeper in the squad. Is a good prospect but is only young. Not ready for Shield cricket yet I would think and hasn't set the world on fire at that level this season.

Better immediate options like Alex Carey have been playing Future's as a batter-only.

Carey's next in line. Has split the keeping duties with Nielson recently. Think SACA realised they might actually have to select a keeper for the main side and obviously it can't be Nielson because he's useless.

He's making runs, he'd be close.
Really highlights SA's problems - schools system used to provide you with your talent - it's obviously ****ed now and with the Mount as your second biggest town you are fighting a losing battle, therefore your grade cricket needs serious focus.

Don't know much about Weatherald
Left hand bat, goes fairly hard. Has scored quite quickly in his Future's games.

From Northern Territory, moved down here for Years 11/12

Thanks.

Ideally we need someone who can hang around whilst the top/middle order fall around him

NT lad who went to PAC. Played at Sturt, followed Borgas to Uni this year to take the gloves. Solid keeper but still needs a little work. Good in the field. Aggressive minded bat, have seen him hook quick bowlers straight to long leg first rock this season - probably something he needs to work on. But he's got all the shots and usually good decision making. Picks up the ball quickly so won't have any issues with the quicker bowlers at shield level, if anything he'll enjoy the extra pace. Will score at a rapid rate usually.

The knock would be the hyper-aggression can backfire. Also not convinced how he'd go on a green seamer; there's a bit of flat track superstar about him.
