Why when a disgraceful 50m is paid against the defender and that puts him on the goal line doesnt he run in towards the guy kicking for goal as the other player is lining up his kick on goal and just go and smother the ball. Do it 3 or 4 times and really piss off the umpire and guy kicking and get inside their heads a bit.

Sure if someone did that the umpire would just award a free before the ball goes back to the middle so that the forward would kick two goals. He'd probably quote the "wasting time" rule but it would actually be the "Mock me at your peril even though it shows I'm petty and small-minded" rule.

That was pretty amazing. No Dixon Schulz Boak Ebert R Gray Ollie Wingard Krak (Ryder and Monfries) and god knows who else against an almost full strength Sydney. Faaark.

It was no Dixon, Schulz, Boak, Ebert, R.Gray, Wines, Wingard, Hartlett, Ebert, Pittard, Broadbent, Westhoff, Lobbe, Krakouer, Ryder, Monfries.

We're going to be fine, like I said.

And Hombsch? Looking good and such massive consistent effort by the inexperienced ones

Just got back home from my nephew's birthday party. Sydney just maintaining a lead just before halftime but with the Swans with 49 more touches. Would expect that this will translate to us running out of puff and going down by 5-6 goals. The Sydney team contains some elite or above average players such as Kennedy, Parker and Hanneberry. Players such as Wingard, Wines, Hombsch, Broadbent and Pittard were withdrawn before the match.
Note from my previous post how things were at half time. At the end of the game we were only leading in one stat, and that was a defensive stat. Yes, we had more tackles, 16 in fact. And 139 less disposals, 90 less in the second half. I was out a bit with the 5-6 goals but they were all over us in the last quarter.

Yeah I had Hombsch in before don't know why I forgot him. Bassett would be well pleased with the defensive effort of the young guys. Now the senior players have a standard to live up to.

Bring those boys in which is obvious for round 1 and beyond and they show that effort all year we will go along way in 2016.

I reckon 2015 fell apart because at times we showed a lack of effort in games or turned up not switch on. There is other things we had to tweak gameplan wise that will be on show later on in the NAB Challenge and season 2016 but all today showed me is it seems we have learnt the lessons of 2015 and heading in the right direction for 2016.

That was great. Good to see the team standards being upheld, our forward press, movement through the middle and defensive structures were all very good. When we're well drilled in those instances it makes us less reliant on individual talent which is always a good thing. From what Ken said before the game about what he'll be looking for I think he'll be pleased.

You mean the gale force wind and thunderstorm was all over us in the last quarter.
That was probably why the loss was 21 points only. Sydney had 55 more disposals in q3 and 35 more in q4. From the disposal counts I would also guess they took Callum Mills off, who had 20 disposals at 90% 2 minutes in the final quarter. He ended with 22 disposals.

He was good. The sooner we get the benefit of our own Academy the better. I hardly see why Sydney continually get a leg up, first COLA and now this.

Haha Crows forum very flat. Saying Swans aren't even trying and you can't read anything into these games and that it's boring. I guess if Crows do well tomorrow even though West Coast are going in with a less experienced squad it will mean they have uncovered some guns and have a Premiership in their sights.

"Gee were playing alright. Better check the crows board."

Seriously.
