Because he scored 84 against a wafl team? Let's hold and see how he goes this weekend (freo away) as this match simulates the matches he will be up against for the first 8 rounds.
Nah, I was saying the same before that NAB game. Milera was performing well against men in the SANFL last year and there's a spot for him in the crows team. I'm pretty big on him. Just don't see how Cockatoo is going to score well.

Extra preseason is the only thing that puts Nakia in my team atm, if Milera keeps impressing ala Mills, we might just have no choice.

Don't worry I saw him play many games last year. Toumpas as an example was one of the best I've seen underage in the sanfl against men and hasn't done anything. He's a wait and see still.

Good luck with that. I'll take a cheaper rookie thanks and bank the extra $60k
Not paying a premium for someone without a previous good SC record.
He's a kid, no rookies have "previous good SC record".
You take the cash cow who is going to play games and score decently. I'll take that over somebody like Petracca who will be in and out and is not best 22.

You do realise that CD track the scores in the U18 competition too, right?
What was his SC average at U18 level? couldn't have been too bad, he was taken at pick 5

ps. Callan Ward averaged 33 SC points in his first season, then went 68 is season 2

I hadn't really thought about the impact Libba would have on Dollhouse.

Think they play completely different games and it shouldn't effect dollhouse's scoring ability.

I still see plenty of midfield time for him. Given me something to think about
Dahl plays a high forward role pushing through midfield rotations, it's something Bevo is big on so I can't see a departure from last year's role.
If anything a fit Stevens/Caleb Daniel/Bailey Dale are more likely to play a similar role but Dahl has improved his stats every year in the AFL system and was one of my first picked players.

I reckon its the way Milera scored his points. He just looked so comfortable even though it was his first game. Looks like he has a real touch of class imo. If it was a choice between him and Cockatoo, I'd take Milera without blinking. Thats not taking JS into account though. Who knows what happens in that respect.

Cockatoo > Milera IMO

Cockatoo performed extremely well in last years NAB and looked to have a touch of class - it didn't translate to the real stuff and the same will happen with Milera.

I believe Cockatoo wore the vest a lot because he didn't have the tank to play a full game at AFL level and I suspect Milera will be in a similar position this year.

Milera's performance against the Eagles thirds, whilst impressive, means very little.

Cockatoo has the extra pre-season, and he has 11 games under his belt so he has already had a taste. The best rookies of the past few years (Tyson, Cripps) were second year players.

Cockatoo played almost no football in his under 18 year, Milera did (against men) and was dominant.

Cripps and Tyson are big bodied inside mids, basically the opposite of the type of player we're talking about.

Sanfl form is even less relevant than his form against West Coast. I'm not saying Cockatoo will have a year like Tyson/Cripps, just pointing out that the extra year in the system clearly helps.

Still a few weeks to go to get a better idea I suppose. I'm not ruling out Cockatoo altogether just yet, but I can't sau I'm super enthused either. Best case IMO is someone like a Tom Phillips getting games and saving the cash anyway.

I'm really struggling with settling on my forward line this year. Martin & Barlow are locked - the only others I like are Lids, Monty and Dahl. Not a big fan of any of the forwards between $550-$450k except Barlow.
A few people are about to goo if K-tip plays ruck.. However, Its giving me a slight chub, but i'll have to wait n see before i bust a nut

Mate totally hear ya and I was the first to be pissed off the Crows got Milera because the kid does have all class. I'm still sticking to the fact he played against players that aren't going to be best 22 so of course the pressure isn't the same as playing against the Dockers or a showdown or something like that. It's still wait and see for me :)
