History would say these 2, love Gawn though, he's gonna kill it one day.
Can the Gawn build a tank this year, IMO no.
Gawn is a lot of coin for a guy who's never played more than 13. Can he do it for a whole season? It's like the guys who knock out a top seed early in the Aus Open. They can't sustain it for two weeks though.

He sounded pretty confident when he was interviewed on the radio. Reckons he's fit enough ATM to keep up with the best of them.

Would love some feedback on the team. Is alot of essendon bench players going to hurt me at all? just hoping wells can last until i can upgrade him.
Extremely strong in the midfield leaving you very light on down back. Could definitely go in like that looking for strong, high scoring years from Docherty, Smith and Sheridan, but extremely risky. If you think they have it in them back yourself, otherwise you will be left kicking yourself when you see them punching out big scores every week. No problem really with who you have filling bench spots, if you were concerned with one too many Essendon players, maybe flick Kommer for an alternate rookie, as it's obvious what you are trying to do with Grimley.

Rocking this at the moment. Problem is I only have 125k per bench rookie, which I don't see happening.

Mitchell, Neale and Westhoff are an necessary risk IMO. Maybe carry one looking for that POD but if you have issues with all three which is possible, it would be basically season over IMO, not sure you could recover.

If you are going all out and not worried about failure, sure, but POD's are over rated IMO. Every year it's won on a solid initial team, right rookies and most importantly good trading. Don't get hung up on teams being very similar. There are a lot of coaches in here that know how to play the game hence why teams are often carrying the same guys.

Also not sure an average of $124k will be enough to carry for 8 rookie spots this year but we'll know more in a couple of weeks.

This is what I have started with. VERY Premo/Rookie biased. Half of these guys are probably not even going to play and then I'll have to start again! But if they do.. wowee!
Yes. No Goldie.

Just be a little careful with Byrne, he is not a senior listed player "yet", just keep an eye on rookie elevations heading into round 1, otherwise you may start one short, I am sure he will play at some stage just possibly not this early.

Thanks, no worries about failure here. Living OS, so no captain loopholes and floating doughnuts etc. Not expecting to win the 50k. Lol.
I see your point about Mitch and Neale and may downgrade one to bolster my rookies if needed.
I see the Hoff as being pretty safe though. Id be surprised if he's not top 6 for total points again.

Mids & fwds ok.
Like the Mitchell pick especially as all home games at the SCG now.
Houli is the one I'd change. Down grade him to Weitering. Gives you almost 300K.
Use 200K of that to upgrade Lobbe to Martin/Gawn.
That will leave you with about 200K for rookies and have a bit left over.

WOW, that is soooo big I had to go outside to look at that post!
Srs tho, Like the Westoff pick. I don't have the balls. Likewise with Neale and TMitch.
Boyd and Bartel really have the potential to miss a few games if you/they are unlucky. Woe is you if they are at the same time.
I love Boyd and Bartel, but I wouldn't pick them because of this. I'm sure Boyd will miss up to four games being managed. But thats just me.

Hmm reason for this.. not for me.

Guys what do you think? Went for something little different. Think Viney, Duncan will take huge leaps this year.

Needs Pendlebury, you can't not have the guy. Same goes for Barlow, he was almost an uber two years ago. I'd drop both mid priced forwards and upgrade Suckling to Laird, Simpson, Bartel or Houli.

Barlow is not a must have, better options in the forward line.

He is a must have.
At worst he'll give you a 90-95 average where he'll still be a top 15 forward, then there's a good chance he'll return to ~110 scoring and be the number 1 ranked forward.

As somebody mentioned a while ago, last year it was Swan, this year it's Barlow. You don't want to be the guy hustling to bring him in

Elaborate please
Barlow's average went down last year because he had less midfield time. With Bennell coming in, along with Fyfe, Mundy and Neale can't see how it will be any different to last season. Martin, Zorko, Dahlhaus all averaged 100 last season and should all improve again slightly. I think Barlow could be a good pick but personally just don't see why he is a must have.
