Now before people jump down my throat.

I've never been in the Swallow to North crap over the last few years that others have been all over.

But the peristant rumors surrounding Swallow seem to suggest he could be on the move at the end of this season.

Those rumors suggest that he was given a near career ending diagnosis from GC medico's during his last PCL setback. He sought a second opinion and even spent some time with North's medico's in recent months who gave him a different recovery program, their opinions weren't too kind on his injury prevention training.

Recent interviews from Andrew suggest he is considering his options based on getting on the park next year...not just with North, but based on his best chance of getting fit next year.

Yes, He's still contracted and Highly rated at the Suns, doubt you will have a pick close enough to make them happy with a trade this year.
Nope, he's out of contract this year. He's a quality player but 6 seasons in, I don't think his draft selection impacts his value any more. First round pick. A club like North may need to cough up a little more seeing as their first will be later.

He's contracted to 2017.

It'd cost North two first round picks to move him

I doubt that very much.

Treloar cost 2 first rounders.

Dangerfield cost 2 first rounders.

Neither of them were coming off 18 months of injuries and both were far more established.

I'd say a first round pick and a sweetener is about right.

If they want him at the end of the year they will have to pay significant overs. Gold Coast are difficult to deal with and losing Swallow on the cheap would be another blow to the club which they really can't afford right now.

I wouldnt call a first rounder and sweetener cheap. maybe slightly below given their likely pick to be in the mid teens or so but his value has reduced over the last 12-18 months given he cant get on the park.

David has been in Melbourne very regularly over the past couple of months.

For what it is worth, his partner and Andrew Swallow's wife are extremely close, and that is playing a huge part in these discussions.

if I was a betting man i would certainly bet on David playing at North next year.
Is he any good though? Are our medicos confident he'll be able to turn his injury around? And do we really need another one paced, slow mid who's kicking is average? I'd put our eggs in the Saad basket more so because he has good speed

Do players really make these decisions based on that?

The two ladies can still be friends without him playing for North.

His kicking is far better than average

If this is correct then Gold Coast might just about be happy to get anything they can for him and prefer to get rid of him, especially since they're essentially getting nothing from him on field these days, so anyone they replace him with could give them more than the nothing they're getting from him and as such be an upgrade.

They might be happy to cut their losses and trade him for a mid to late first rounder and perhaps a sweetener. The thing that might make them less inclined to do this though is if Prestia and O'Meara are also about to walk. To lose all 3 of them in one hit would be pretty devastating and then there's the small matter of Ablett also being OOC this year!

They could almost be back to square-one at the end of this year's trade period.

Lachie Hansen and pick 12-18 for Swallow and a third rounder.

he is worth the least out of himself, Saad, prestia and O'Meara
He won the best and fairest in 2014, albeit when Ablett went down. He is worth more than Saad. Personally think he is a better talent than Prestia too and injuries have gotten in the way but others may disagree
